Patanjali Divya Medha Vati: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side effects

Patanjali Divya Medha Vati is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Patanjali Ayurved Limited. It is useful in the treatment of headache, anxiety, depression, sleeplessness etc.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Patanjali Divya Medha Vati:
Brahmi – Bacopa monnieri – 54.70 mg – Useful in psychiatric diseases, lack of memory, loss of concentration, hearing and vision loss etc.
Shankhapushpi – Convolvulus pluricaulis – 54.70 mg – It is a very famous Ayurvedic medicine used to improve memory, intelligence etc.
Methi Vach – Acorus calamus Root – 43.70 mg – It improves speech, intelligence, voice tone and quality and useful in epilepsy, throat disorders.
Ustakhaaus – Lavandula stoechas Leaf – 43.70 mg
Ashwagandha – Indian ginseng – Withania somnifera Root – 43.70 mg – It is widely used in treating anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, adrenaline fatigue. 
Malkangni – Jyothishmati – Celastrus paniculatus Seed – 43.70 mg – It improves intelligence and memory. It has nootropic activity.
Saunf – Fennel seed – Foeniculum vulgare Fruit – 19.20 mg
Jaharmohara pishti – 19.30 mg – It acts as cardiac tonic, useful in Pitta related disorders, heart burn, headache and gastro enteritis.
Ganjvan – Gojihva – Onosma bracteatum Leaf – 17.0 mg
Praval pishti – Oxide of corralium rubrum – 17.0 mg – It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of cough, cold, Pitta related diseases etc. 
Jatamansi – Spikenard – Nardostachys jatamansi Root – 11.25 mg – It is a famous Ayurvedic herb used in neuro-psychiatric diseases and skin diseases.
Mothi pishti – Mytilus margaratferus – 11.25 mg – It is used in the treatment of mania, psychosis, depression.
Bramhi (Extract) – Bacopa monnieri – 11.25 mg
Shankhpushpi (Extract) – Convolvulus pluricaulis – 11.25 mg
Methi Vach (Extract) – Acorus calamus Root – 54.60 mg
Malkangani (Extract) – Jyothishmati – Celastrus paniculatus – 43.70 mg

Headache
Anxiety

Sleeplessness
Memory loss

Dose

Dosage of Patanjali Divya Medha Vati:
1 to 2 tablets twice or thrice a day.
Or as directed by the physician.

Diet to follow

Ghee, coconut oil, Sunflower seed, almond, taro root, flaxseed oil, soyabean, pistachio,
Broccoli, carrots, chard, nuts, papaya, pumpkin, red peppers
Flax seeds, walnut, tofu, brussel sprout, cauliflower, winter squash, fish oil, egg oil, krill oil, chia seeds, camelia are fine to take.
There are no diet restrictions. Please avoid all types of junk foods and Sodas. Please prefer homemade food wherever possible.

Side effects

Side effects of Patanjali Divya Medha Vati:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for it’s usage during pregnancy, lactation period and in children.

With Homeopathy and western medicine


Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?

Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

Can this medicine be continued while taking supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

With western medicines

Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic / modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take Allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then take the Ayurvedic medicine.

Habit forming?

Is this medicine habit forming? Does it create dependence? Can we stop it after a few months of usage?
This medicine is not habit forming. After using for the prescribed period, your doctor would gradually decrease the dose and eventually stop it. Follow your doctor’s instructions for gradual decrease of dose and stopping. Usually it does not cause any ill effects.
