Rasagandhi Mezhugu Capsules: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Rasagandhi  Mezhugu Capsules is a classical Siddha medicine in capsule form, manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used in the treatment of vatha vyadhis.

Rasam – Parada – Elemental mercury – 1.04 %
Gandhakam – Gandhaka – Elemental Sulphur – 1.04 %
Pooram/Rasa karpooram – Rasa Karpoora – Mercurous chloride – 1.04 % Paththra thalagam – Haratala – Arsenic trisulphide – 1.04 % – It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of  Syphilis, Gout, herpes etc.
Kaantham – Kantha loha – Magnetite ore of iron [ferrosso ferric oxide of iron] – 1.04 % – Used for the treatment of Anemia, Tuberculosis, Muscle waisting, and Jaundice etc.
Thurusu – Thuttha – Copper sulphate – 1.04 %
Paal thuththam – Zinc carbonate with traces of zinc sulphate – 1.04 % Mirudarsingi – Mriddarasringi – Lead monoxide – 1.04 %
Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 1.04 %
Omam – Yavani – Carom seed – Trachyspermum ammi – 1.04 %

Indication

Indication of Rasagandhi Mezhugu Capsule:

  • Painful conditions of varied types such as- mega soolai, vedi soolai, idi soolai, pudai soolai, thudi soolai, vadha soolai [various kinds of neuralgic pains]
  • Kaal kudaichchal [excessive pain in leg]
  • Karanai
  • Vippurudhi [fissures]
  • Gandamalai [scrofula]
  • Thozhu noi [leprosy]
  • Sori [itches]
  • Sirangu [scabies]
  • Puzhuvettu [alopecia]
  • Thadippu [rashes]
  • Aankuri silandhi & penkuri silandhi [chancre]
  • Megam [hot flush]
  • Various kinds of glandular enlargements such as – seng granthi , karung granthi, ari granthi, pori granthi, padugranthi etc.
  • Thodaivazhai
  • Muttu vazhai
  • Various kinds of cancerous affections such as – kanna puttru [cheek cancer], aankuri puttru [penile cancer], penkuri puttru [vaginal cancer]
    Moolam [piles]
    Pouththiram [fistula] etc.

It is useful to promote strength of bones and joints.
It acts as an excellent anti inflammatory and analgesic mediicne.
It is used for the treatment of ankle pain, ankle twitch, slipped disc, sprain, back spasm, backache, back injury, stiffness of muscles, Coccyx pain

Sensory-neural hearing loss
Hypothyroidism
Ankylosing spondylitis
Pain related to SLE

Diet

Avoid deep fried foods, heavy-to-digest non veg foods, fast foods and aerated drinks, smoking and excess alcohol. These can irritate stomach and intestinal lining. These also may increase Tridosha.

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Rasagandhi mezhugu Capsule:
1 to 2 capsules with palm jaggery twice daily after taken curd rice for 40 days.
Or as directed by the physician.

Diet

Pathya:-
Avoid salt, tamarind, sour diet, alcohol, pagal [bitter gourd], agathi [sasban], non-veg foods & tobacco.

Side effects and package

Side effects of Rasagandhi Mezhugu Capsule:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • Should be taken under strict medical supervision.

Presentation:

Capsules of 500 mg & 1000 mg in bottle containing 100s & 500s.
