Ayakantha Chendooram Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Ayakantha Chendooram is a classical Siddha medicine in bhasma form, manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used in the treatment of all kinds of anaemia.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Ayakantha Chendooram:
Ayapodi – Loha – Elemental iron – 30 % – It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of anemia, eye disorders, skin diseases etc. 
Kaantham – Kantha loha – Magnetite ore of iron – 8 %
Gandhakam – Shuddha gandhaka – Elemental Sulphur – 30 %
Lingam – Parada – Mercuric sulphide – 4 %
Venkaram – Tankana – Sodium tetra borate – 4 % – It improves digestion power, useful in Vata imbalance diseases.
Padikaram – Sphatika – Potassium alluminium sulphate – 4 % – It balances Vata and Pitta.
Pooneeru – Alkaline earth salt – 4 %
Sottruppu – Sauvarchala lavana – Sochal salt – 4 %
Indhuppu – Saindhava lavana – Sodium chloride – 4 % – It improves digestion strength and taste.
Naattu navacharam – Navasagara – Ammonium chloride – 4 %
Karpooram – karpoora – Cinnamomum camphora – 4 %

Elumichcham pasha saaru – Nimbooka swarasa – Citrus aurantifolia – q.s. – It improves digestion strength.

Indication of Ayakantha Chendooram:

  • Paandu noigal [all kinds of anaemia].

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Ayakantha Chendooram:

100 – 200 mg twice daily with honey, ghee or Panchadeepakkini Chooranam [a prepared medicine] before food.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Diet

Pathya:-  Avoid salt, tamarind, sour diet, alcohol, pagal [bitter gourd], agathi [sasban], non-veg foods & tobacco.
