Imupsora Tablet: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Imupsora Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Charak Pharma Pvt. Ltd. It is a cutaneous anti-proliferative and chemo-protective therapy.

Imupsora is a comprehensive therapy, systemic as well as topical, for the treatment of psoriasis.

Benefits of Imupsora Tablet

It provides predictable anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial action.
Systemic administration helps in correcting the immune dysfunction and abnormal cytokine release.

Indication

In chronic plaque psoriasis – To prolong ongoing remission.
To promote regression of lesions.
To induce early remission.
To complement topical therapy.
To prevent spontaneous flare-ups.
In other types of psoriasis such as – plantar psoriasis, scalp psoriasis, guttate psoriasis etc.
As an add-on therapy with modern immuno-suppressants.
As a complement to photo therapy in psoriasis.

Dosage

2 tablets twice a day, or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Each coated tablet contains –
Vanga bhasma – Tin calx – 10 mg – Improves taste, skin complexion and intelligence, strength and immunity.
Extracts of – Manjista – Indian madder – Rubia cordifolia – 200 mg – It is a famous herb for blood detoxifying. 
Triphala – 100 mg
Amla – Gooseberry – Embelica officinalis – The anti-oxidants and vitamin C in Amla, help to brighten skin.
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – Useful in skin diseases.
Vibitaki – Baheda – Terminalia bellerica
Guduchi – Giloy – Tinospora cordifolia – 100 mg – It is a well known immuno-modulator herb used in the correction of auto-immunity. 
Khadira – Cutch tree – Acacia catechu – 70 mg – It is a very famous skin benefiting Ayurvedic herb.
Sariva – Indian sarsaparilla – Hemidesmus indicus – 70 mg – useful in skin diseases, itching.
Aragwadha – Cassia fistula – 50 mg – widely used in the treatment of skin diseases.
Katuki – Picrorrhiza kurroa – 50 mg
Tulasi – Holy basil – Ocimum sanctum – 50 mg – useful in skin diseases with pain and itchiness.

Do’s, Don’ts

Do’s

Bathe only with mild soaps, and keep the temperature of water lukewarm, not hot.
Moisturize your skin with coconut oil, or any other moisturizer.
It prevents skin from cracking.
Drink plenty of water and fruit juice.

Don’ts

Avoid food items known to cause allergies like- fish, eggs, peanuts and soya. Avoid mental stress.
Stress exacerbates psoriasis.
Avoid scratching the irritated area on your skin, even if it itches.

Side effects of Imupsora Tablet

There are no known side effects with this medicine. However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach and sight of children.    
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy. This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
