Shwas Kuthar Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine in tablet or powder form. It is used in the treatment of asthma, dyspnoea, chronic bronchitis etc. This medicine should only be taken under strict medical supervision.

Shwas Kuthar Ras Uses:
It is used in treatment of cough, cold, asthma, bronchitis, anorexia, indigestion.
It is told that in case of unconsciousness or epilepsy, powder of this tablet can be used for nasal instillation. But do not attempt such practices. Your doctor will be the best judge.
Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata and Kapha.
Dose
Shwas Kuthar Rasa dosage:
125 – 250 mg once or twice a day, before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor. It is traditionally administered along with honey (as per Ayurvedic Formulary of India), hot water.
Bhaishajya Ratnavali mentions to administer this along with betel leaf.
How long to use: It can be used upto 1 – 2 months based on doctor’s prescription.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
Side Effects
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It should be taken under strict medical supervision. Take this medicine only if your Ayurveda doctor has prescribed it to you.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Use this medicine only till the prescribed time and in the prescribed dose only.

it can be used. default dose is 125-250 mg for 1-2 months.
Hi ,
I took this medicine combine with “Laxmi vilas ras” for 4 year every day. I had bronchitis asthma. It gave good result, I don’t have asthma attack for last 11 years. Now I come to know it has mercury in it. mercury effects will last for long time. Can you please tell me what can be the side effect of this medicine.
The mercury that is used is after proper herbal purification process. Hence, it will not have any ill effects on your health.

It can hold a shelf life of u to 10 years. So, safe to use.

Some Ayurveda doctors use decongestants such as Karvol plus (with menthol, thymol, eucalyptus oil etc) for nebulizer. But better to consult a doctor and take advice.
