Mahasudarshan Kadha is an Ayurvedic medicine, used in the treatment of fever, indigestion, headache, cough, anemia, jaundice, liver disorders etc.

Ingredients of Mahasudarshan Kadha
Chebulic myrobalan – Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – It is useful to treat anemia, cough, cold, breathing difficulties, jaundice, chronic recurrent fever etc.
Belliric myrobalan – Vibitaki – Terminalia bellirica
Gooseberry – Amalaki – Emblica officinalis
Turmeric – Haridra – Curcuma longa – It has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and immuno-modulatory activities.
Daruharidra – Berberis aristata
Choti Kateri – Kantakari – Solanum surattense – It is a very useful Ayurveda herb, used widely in the treatment of cough, cold, asthma and such other respiratory tract conditions.
Badi Kateri – Solanum indicum – It is widely used in treating respiratory disorders.
Kachur–Curcuma zedoaria – It is used in the treatment of fever, cough, asthma, piles, skin diseases, worm infestation etc.
Ginger – Shunti – Zingiber officinale – It is unctuous, promotes digestion, aphrodisiac, hot in potency, balances Vata and Kapha.
Black Pepper – Maricha – Piper nigrum
Long Pepper – Pippali – Piper longum
Long Pepper root – Pippali mool – Piper longum – It is hot, useful in asthma, indigestion, bloating, anorexia, cold, cough, low metabolism etc.
Murva – Marsdenia tenacissima – It is used in treating diseases due to impure blood, skin diseases, jaundice and fever.
Giloy – Guduchi – Tinospora cordifolia – It has immuno-modulatory and anti-pyretic properties.
Dhamasa– Fagonia cretica – It is used to treat general debility, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, respiratory disorders etc.
Katuki– Picrorhiza kurroa – It is used in treating mainly chronic fever, skin disorders, diabetes etc.
Pitta papada– Parpataka – Fumaria parviflora – It is used in fever, high Pitta conditions such as fever, gastritis, diarrhea, excessive thirst etc.
Nagarmotha – Cyperus rotundus
Trayamana–Gentiana kurroo – It is used in the treatment of wound, skin diseases, fever, liver disorders etc.
Netrabala – Hrivera – Pavonia odorata – It is used in the treatment of fever, burning sensation, herpes, excessive thirst, vomiting etc.
Carom seed – Ajwain – Carum copticum – It is used extensively in digestive diseases.
Indrajav– Kutaja – Holarrhena antidysenterica
Bharangi– Clerodendrum serratum – It is used in treating allergic rhinitis, asthma, fever and other inflammatory conditions.
Drumstick seed – Shigrubeej – Moringa oleifera
Purified Alum – Shudda Sphatika – It is useful in abdominal pain, low back ache, dry cough, pneumonia, chronic bronchial diseases.
Vacha – Acorus calamus

Lotus – Kamal – Nelumbo nucifera
Ushira – Vetiveria zizanioides – It is widely used in treating fever, dysuria, burning sensation, fatigue syndrome etc.

Atees – Ativisha – Aconitum heterophyllum – Of all the herbs having digestive, carminative, absorbent and Tridosha balancing properties, Ativisha is the best.

Tagara– Valeriana wallichii – It is used for the treatment of wounds, arthritis, cough, asthma, general debility, fever etc.
Chitraka moola – Plumbago zeylanica–It is one of the powerful digestive and carminative herbs of Ayurveda.
Devadaru – Cedrus deodara
Chavya–Piper retrofractum – It is used in treating indigestion, abdominal colic, anorexia etc.
Patolapatra – Trichosanthes dioica
Kalmegh – Andrographis paniculata – It is used for the treatment of diseases of the liver, skin diseases, lack of appetite, fever and purification of the blood.
Karanja – Pongamia pinnata
Clove – Lavanga – Syzygium aromaticum
Bamboo – Vamshalochan – Bambusa arundinacea – It is used for the treatment of cough, skin diseases, digestive disorders, fever etc.

Actions as per Ayurveda – as per Vaidya Subhash Sharma
Its net effect on the body is coolant.
Pachana – digestive
Srotoshodhana – clears body channels
Anulomana – enables normal movement of Vata Dosha, eases constipation
Jwaraghna – useful in fever
Pitta Rechana – helps to eliminate vitiated Pitta Dosha out of the body.
The Sphatika content in it helps to decrease RBC in urine.
Useful in Vrukka Pradaha – a condition where excessive Pitta increases the concentration of urine, by increasing hotness quality in kidney.
It is useful in many skin disorders

Dose

Dosage of Mahasudarshan Kadha
10 to 20 ml with equal quantity of water,after food, twice a day.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Side effects, shelf life

Side effects of Mahasudarshan Kadha
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation period and in children.

3 years from the manufacturing date.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

Can this medicine be continued while taking supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

With western medicines

Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic / modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take Allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then take the Ayurvedic medicine.
