Triphala Arishta – Ingredients, Benefits, Dose, Side effects

Triphala Arishta is an Ayurvedic medicine in liquid form, manufactured by Bharadwaj Pharmaceuticals Works. It is used in the treatment of anemia, edema, diabetes, cough, asthma, skin diseases etc.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Triphalarishta
Triphala –
Gooseberry – Amalaki – Emblica officinalis – Rejuvenative, good for heart, balances all the 3 doshas and useful in the treatment of diabetes, skin diseases, bleeding disorders etc.
Chebulic myrobalan – Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – It is useful in the treatment of anemia, skin diseases, hemorrhoids, diabetes, cough, cold, splenomegaly, liver disorders etc.
Belliric myrobalan – Vibitaki – Terminalia bellirica
Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanica – Of all the herbs that are carminative, digestive, useful in hemorrhoids, anti-inflammatory, anti-colic, lead wort is the best.
Long Pepper – Pippali – Piper longum – It is useful in the treatment of indigestion, ascites, diabetes, piles, abdominal tumor, asthma and other respiratory diseases.
Carom seeds – Ajwain – Carum copticum – It is used extensively in digestive diseases.
Iron – Loha – It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of anemia, gastric complaints, skin diseases etc.
Vidanga – Embelia ribes – It is used in the treatment of worm infestation, constipation, abdominal distension, bloating, indigestion, abdominal colic pain etc.
Honey – Madhu
Old Jaggery – Purana Guda

Heart diseases,diabetes
Anemia, splenomegaly
Advanced anemia or jaundice – Haleemaka
Edema
Giddiness
Tastelessness
Abdominal tumor, abdominal diseases
Fistula in ano
Hiccup, Cough, asthma, chronic respiratory diseases
Irritable bowel syndrome
Itching, vitiligo, skin diseases

Dose

Dosage of Triphalarishta
10 to 30 ml after food, with equal quantity of water.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Side effects, shelf life

Side effects of Triphalarishta
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation period and in children.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

Can this medicine be continued while taking supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

With western medicines

Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic / modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take Allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then take the Ayurvedic medicine.
