Maha Manjishthadyarishta: Benefits, Ingredients, Dose, Side effects

Maha Manjishthadyarishta is an Ayurvedic medicine in liquid form, useful in the treatment of leprosy, syphilis, psoriasis, elephantiasis etc.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Maha Manjishthadyarishta:
Indian madder – Manjishta – Rubia cordifolia – It is a famous herb for blood detoxification. Its root is extensively used in many skin diseases. 
Musta – Cyperus rotundus
Kutaja – Holarrhena antidysenterica – It has anti fungal activity.
Giloy – Guduchi – Tinospora cordifolia – It is a well known immuno-modulator herb used in the correction of auto-immunity. 
Daru haridra – Berberis aristata – It is used in Ayurveda to treat eye disorders, skin disorders with itching, diabetes, urinary tract diseases etc.
Murwa mool – Marsdenia tenacissima – It is a plant mentioned in Ayurveda for its action in treating diseases due to impure blood, skin diseases, jaundice and fever. 
Red sandalwood – Rakta Chandan – Pterocarpus santalinus – Useful in skin diseases.
Sarsaparilla – Anant Mool – Hemidesmus indicus
Neem-twak – Nimba – Azadirachta indica – It has anti fungal, anti bacterial, anti inflammatory and anti viral properties.
Sariva – Hemidesmus indicus
Bharangi – Clerodendrum serratum – It has anti oxidant, anti inflammatory and wound healing activities.
Bakuchi – Psoralea corylifolia – It is an Ayurveda herb, very well known for its efficacy against skin diseases including leucoderma. 
Triphala – Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Vibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica), Amla (Emblica officinalis)
Kutki – Picrorhiza kurroa – Useful in skin diseases.
Khadir – Acacia catechu – It is a very famous skin benefiting Ayurveda herb.
Dhai Ke Phool – Woodfordia fruticosa
Vidanga – Embelia ribes – It improves skin complexion and also used for rejuvenation purpose.
Shatavari – Asparagus racemosus
Jaggery – Guda

Indications

Indications of Maha Manjishthadyarishta:
Acne, eczema, carbuncles
Leprosy, leucoderma
Scabies, urticaria
Syphilis
Elephantiasis
Obesity

Dose

Dosage of Maha Manjishthadyarishta:
15 to 30 ml with equal quantity of water.
Or as directed by physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

Side effects, shelf life

Side effects of Maha Manjishthadyarishta:  
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for it’s usage during pregnancy, lactation period and in children.

Shelf life:
10 years. Once after opening the bottle, it is better to empty it within 2 months.

With Homeopathy and western medicine


Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?

Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

Can this medicine be continued while taking supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

With western medicines

Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic / modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take Allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then take the Ayurvedic medicine.
