Chittramutti Madakku Thailam: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Chittramutti Madakku Thailam is a classical Siddha medicine in oil form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used for vatha disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Chittramutti Madakku Thailam:
Sittramutti ver – Bala – Country mallow – Sida cordifolia – 33.33 % – It is useful to improve strength of bones, muscles and joints.
Pasum paal – Go dugdha – Bos indicus/ cow’s milk – 33.33 % – It improves strength and immunity.
Elaneer – Narikela jala – Coconut water – Cocos nucifera – 33.33 % – It acts as a digestive stimulant and is diuretic in action. It has aphrodisiac properties. 

Indication

Indications of Chittramutti Madakku Thailam:

  • Kuthigal vatham
  • Enburikki noi [emaciation]
  • Karuppasaya noigal [uterine disorders]
  • Enurusam [bone disorders]
  • Ayervu [weakening]
  • Vanmai kundral [poor immunity]
  • Munneer kovai
  • Pinneer kovai [sinusitis].

Application on feet

Oil application over feet

Precaution if you apply this oil over feet:
If you apply this oil on feet, make sure to wash off thouroughly with water or wipe off with cloth. The oil can make you slippery while walking.
After applying, make sure there are no oil spills on the floor. This can make the floor slippery.

Direction for use

Directions for use of Chittramutti Madakku Thailam:

  • Internally- 5 ml after food twice a day.
  • Externally- for massage & as a bath oil.
    Or as directed by the physician.

Side effects and package

Side effects of Chittramutti Madakku Thailam:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • Internally should be taken under medical supervision.

Bottle of 100 ml, 250 ml & 500 ml.

During pregnancy, lactation

If you were using this oil before pregnancy without any allergic reaction, you can continue using this oil even during pregnancy.
If you have not used this product before and wish to use it during pregnancy, better to consult a doctor because it can cause skin allergy in some rare cases.
It is generally considered as safe to use during lactation, however consult your doctor for the right advice.

Can this product be applied after steam therapy?
No. Oil is best applied before steam therapy. This is as per basic Ayurvedic principles.
