Markandan Mezhugu is a classical Siddha mediine in bhasma form, manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used in the treatment of kapha vatha disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Markandan Mezhugu:
Purified rasam – Mercuric chloride – 9 %
Purified pooram – Shuddha Parada – Hydragyrum subchloride – 9 %
Purified veeram – Shuddha Tankana – Sodium biborate – 9 % – It is good for heart, useful in Vata imbalance diseases. It induces menstruation in women suffering with amenorrhea or oligomenorrhea.
Purified thalakam – Shuddha Haratala – Arsenic trisulphide – 9 % – It is useful in skin diseases with itching, cough, cold, bronchitis, asthma, syphilis, sinus, boils etc.
Purified kanthagam – Shuddha Gandhaka – Elemental Sulphur – 19 % Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 19 %
Thein – Madhu – Honey – Apis mellifera – 26 %

• 96 types of silethumam [kappa disorders]
• Kandamalai [glandular swelling of neck]
• Araiyappu [bubo]

• Prai [external ulcers, tropic ulcers]
• Vellai [leucorrhoea]
• Vettai [gonorrhoea].

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Markandan Mezhugu:
100 mg with palm jaggery after food twice daily for 48 days,
or as directed by the physician.
