Kasthoori Tablets Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Kasthoori Tablet is a classical Siddha medicine in tablet form, manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used in the treatment of respiratory disorders, especially in children.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Kasthoori Tablet:
Each 100 mg tablet contains –
Kasthoori – Kasthoori – Moschus moschiferus – 20 % – It is used in the treatment of psychiatric disorders, neurological diseases, nausea, bad odor, strengthening cardiac muscles and respiratory diseases. 
Jadhikkai – Jatiphala – Nutmeg – Myristica fragrans – 20 % – Useful in cough, cold, asthma, COPD and other respiratory diseases etc.
Jadhipathiri – Jatipatra – Myristica fragrans – 20 %
Lavangam – Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 20 %
Milagu – Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 20 % – It decreases sputum production and useful in treatment of asthma, COPD and chronic respiratory disorders etc.
Processed in –
Vettrilai saaru – Thamboolapatra swarasa – Piper betle – q.s. – It is widely used in the treatment of cough, asthma, headache, rhinitis, arthritic joint pain, anorexia etc. 
Thulasi saaru – Thulasi swarasa – Holy basil – Ocimum sanctum – q.s. – It has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immuno-modulatory activities.

Indication

Indication of Kasthoori Tablet:
Children’s respiratory problems like –

  • Jaladosham [common cold]
  • Irumal [cough]
  • Iraippu [wheezing]
  • Sali [phlegmatic condition]
  • Iraippirumal [bronchial asthma]
  • It is an expectorant & anti-tussive.

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Kasthoori Tablet:
1 – 2 pills with milk after food 2 – 3 times a day.
Or as directed by the physician.

Side effects and package

Side effects of Kasthoori Tablet:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • Should be taken under medical supervision.
