Thetran Kottai Legiyam is a classical Siddha medicine in paste/jam form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used to treat ano-rectal diseases.

Ingredients of Thetran Kottai Legiyam:
Thettrankottai – Kataka – Clearing nut – Strychnos potatorum – 38.45 % – It is a herb well known in Ayurvedic treatment of eye diseases, skin diseases, anorexia, diarrhea and renal calculi. 
Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 3.85 % – It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities.
Milagu – Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 3.85 %
Thippili – Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 3.85 %
Kadukkai – Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 3.85 % – It helps to ease bowel movement, one of the complications in hemorrhoids. It helps in reducing the pile mass and reducing / stopping the bleeding.
Nellikkai – Amalaki – Gooseberry – Emblica officinalis – 3.85 % – It relieves constipated bowels when taken regularly.
Thandrikkai – Vibhitaki – Belleric myrobalan – Terminalia bellerica – 3.85 %
Sittarathai – Sugandhimoola – Alpinia calcarata – 3.85 %

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Thetran Kottai Legiyam:

• 5 – 10 g with milk or water after food twice daily.
• Given along with Nagaparpam in 100 – 200 mg doses in Kuruthi ozhugu moolam [bleeding piles].

• There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
• Should be taken under medical supervision.
• Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
