Prasava Nadakaya Legiyam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Prasava Nadakaya Legiyam is a classical Siddha medicine in paste/jam form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is a general tonic mainly used after delivery, also used in the treatment of anemia.

Ingredients of Prasava Nadakaya Legiyam:
Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 4.20 % – It improves taste and digestion strength.
Thippili – Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 2.10 %
Nattu amukkara kizhangu – Ashwagandha – Indian ginseng – Withania somnifera – 2.10 % – It improves body nourishment, strength and immunity.
Adhimadhuram – Yastimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 2.10 %
Sitharathai – Sugandhimoola – Alpinia calcarata – 2.10 %
Mavilangapattai – Varuna – Crataeva religiosa – 2.10 %
Thalisapathiri – Talispatra – Taxus baccata – 2.10 %
Valmilagu – Kankola – Piper cubeba – 2.10 % – Useful in the treatment of indigestion, anorexia, swelling, cough etc.
Vaividangam – Vidanga – Embelia ribes – 2.10 %
Vellai milagu – Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 2.10 %
Sathakuppai – Satahva – Dill seed – Anethum sowa – 4.20 % – Acts as galactogogue. It is mainly used in digestive disorders.
Omam – Yavani – Carom seed – Trachyspermum ammi – 2.10 % – It is used extensively in digestive diseases.
Karunseeragam – Krishna jeeraka – Black caraway – Nigella sativa – 2.10 % – It is widely used in after delivery care of the mother. It is good for eyes, bloating, vomiting etc.
Parangipattai – Madhusnuhi – Smilax china – 1.05 % – It is a plant mentioned for the treatment of cancer, syphilis, skin diseases, constipation, urine retention, disease of joint etc.
Perarathai – Rasna – Alpinia galanga – 1.05 %
Siruthekku – Bhumi jambooka – Premna herbacea – 1.05 %
Thesavaram – Gajapippali – Piper longum – 1.05 % – It is a plant mentioned in Ayurveda for the treatment of respiratory diseases, indigestion, fever, pain in the joints and in the improvement of the quality of breast milk in lactating women.  
Vellai vettiver – Usheera – Vetiveria zizanioides – 1.05 %
Kadugu rohini – Katuki – Picrorhiza kurroa – 1.05 % – It is a powerful Ayurvedic herb used in treating mainly chronic fever, skin disorders and diabetes.
Perunkayam – Hingu – Ferula asafoetida – 2.10 %
Kirambu – Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 1.50 %
Sadamanjil – Jatamamsi – Nardostachys jatamansi – 2.10 %
Sathaveri – Satavari – Asparagus racemosus – 2.10 % – It helps mother to lactate more, useful in treating male and female infertility, induces sleep, calms mind and stomach.

Indication of Prasava Nadakaya Legiyam:

  • Pandu [anemia]
  • Sobai [edema]
  • Soolvanthi [vomiting]
  • Prasava alukku [removes the unwanted contents of the delivery]
  • Pralaveenam [weakness]
  • Thaipaal enmai [poor secretion of mother’s milk]
  • Yoni noikal [disorders of vaginal tract]
  • Seerana noikal [digestive disorders]
  • It strengthens the uterus.
  • After delivery can be used for 6 months to 1 year.

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Prasava Nadakaya Legiyam:
5 g with milk after food twice a day,
or as directed by the physician.

Side effects, package

Side effects of Prasava Nadukaya Legiyam:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • Should be taken under medical supervision.
  • Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
