Nannari Legiyam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Nannari Legiyam is a classical Siddha medicine in paste/jam form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used to treat digestive tract disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Nannari Legiyam:
Nannari ver – Sariva – Indian sarsaparilla – Hemidesmus indicus – 4.76 % – It is widely used in the treatment of oligospermia, gastritis, anorexia, menorhagia etc.
Allikkizhangu – Utpala – Nymphaea stellate – 4.76 % – Useful in burning sensation, as in gastritis, neuropathy, burning sensation in eyes etc.
Panneer poo – Satapatri – Rosa rubra – 4.76 % – It improves digestion strength and relieves internal burning sensation.
Musumusukkai ver – Trikosaki – Melothria maderaspatana – 4.76 % Ponnankanni ver – Matsyakshi – Alternanthera sessilis – 4.76 % – It is useful in acid peptic disorders, IBS, lack of sleep etc.
Seeragam – Jeeraka – Cumin – Cuminum cyminum – 4.76 %
Vaal milagu – Kankola – Piper cubeba – 4.76 % – It improves taste and digestion power.
Kadukkai thole – Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 4.76 %
Nelli vattral – Amalaki – Gooseberry – Emblica officinalis – 4.76 %

Ularndha drakshai – Draksha – Vitis vinifera – q.s. – Useful in bleeding disorders, burning sensation – as in gastritis, neuropathy, burning sensation in eyes etc.

Indication of Nannari Legiyam:

  • Piththam [biliousness]
  • Vayittra erichchal [burning sensation in stomach]
  • Vaandhi [vomiting/emesis]
  • Vayittru vali [stomach pain]
  • Agnimandham [dyspepsia]
  • Udal erivu [burning sensation]
  • Vellai [leucorrhoea]
  • Varattirumal/ushna irumal [dry cough]
  • Neerchoodu [burning sensation during micturition]
  • Dysuria [painful micturition]
  • Neerkaduppu
  • Mega choodu
  • Ushnavayu
  • Varattchi dosham
  • Piramiyam.

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Nannari Legiyam:
5 – 10 g with milk after food twice daily.
Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects of Nannari Legiyam:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • Should be taken under medical supervision.
  • Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
