Thasamoola Kudineer Chooranam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Thasamoola Kudineer Chooranam is a classical Siddha medicine in powder form used for making the respective Kashaya, manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used to treat respiratory disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Thasamoola Kudineer Chooranam:
Vilvaver – Bilva – Bael – Aegle marmelos – 7.14 %
Munnai ver – Agnimantha – Premna integrifolia – 7.14 % – It has anti-inflammatory activity.
Peruvagai ver – Shirisha – Albizia lebbeck – 7.14 %
Kumilver – Kashmarya – Gmelina arborea – 7.14 % – Its fruits bear nourishing qualities, brain tonic while the root is anti inflammatory (reduces pain, swelling, etc).
Pathiriver – Patala – Stereospermum suaveolens – 7.14 % – It has immuno-modulatory, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activities.
Moovilai ver – Shalaparni – Pseudarthria viscida – 7.14 %
Orilai ver – Prishniparni – Uraria lagopodioides – 7.14 % – Useful in dyspnoea, Asthma, Bronchitis and Chronic respiratory disorders.
Mullukathiri ver – Bruhati – Solanum anguivi – 7.14 % – It is widely used in treating respiratory disorders.
Kandankathiri ver – Kantakari – Solanum xanthocarpum – 7.14 % – It is a very useful Ayurveda herb, used widely in the treatment of cough, cold, asthma and such other respiratory tract conditions.
Nerunchil – Gokshura – Tribulus terrestris – 7.14 % – Useful in dyspnoea, Asthma, Bronchitis and Chronic respiratory disorders.
Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 7.14 %
Milagu – Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 7.14 %
Thippili – Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 7.14 %
Adathodai ver – Vasa – Malabar nut – Adhatoda vasica – 7.14 % – It has anti-inflammatory, anti-tussive, broncho-dilatory and anti-bacterial activities.

Indication of Thasamoola Kudineer Chooranam:

  • Muthoda pinikal [vatha, pitha & kapha disorders]
  • Kayakarpam [rejuvenator]
  • Erumal [cough]
  • Iraippu [bronchial asthma]
  • Keelvayu [arthritis]
  • Kabavatha sanni [pneumonia]
  • Adjuvant medicine for all types of vatha diseases.
  • Post viral fever, when the patient complains of body, muscle and joint pains
    Bursitis,  
  • Bursitis trochanterica,
  • Shoulder dislocation pain

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Thasamoola Kudineer Chooranam:

  • Take 5 g of the powder mix it with 300 ml of water, boil & reduce to 30 ml. and give it by addition with honey twice daily, or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
