Nilavembu Kudineer Chooranam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Nilavembu Kudineer Chooranam is a classical Siddha medicine in powder form used for making respective Kashaya, manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is a good anti-pyretic.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Nilavembu Kudineer Chooranam:
Nilavembu samoolam – Kalamegha – Andrographis paniculata – 11.11 % – It is an Ayurvedic herb, used for the treatment of diseases of the liver, skin diseases, lack of appetite, fever and purification of the blood.
Vettiver – Udeechya – Coleus vettiveroides – 11.11 % – It is a aromatic medicinal herb used in the treatment of fever, burning sensation, herpes, excessive thirst, giddiness, vitiligo, vomiting, diarrhea etc. 
Vilamichanver – Usheera – Vetiveria zizanioides – 11.11 % – It is widely used in treating fever, dysuria, burning sensation, fatigue syndrome, skin disorders etc. 
Sandhanam – Chandana – Sandal wood – Santalum album – 11.11 %
Peipudal samoolam – Patola – Pointed gourd – Trichosanthes dioica – 11.11 % – Useful in the treatment of skin diseases, cough, fever etc.
Korai kizhangu – Musta – Cyperus rotundus – 11.11 % – It improves lactation, relieves fever, burning sensation, excessive thirst.
Chukku – Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 11.11 %
Milagu – Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 11.11 % – It is used in treating recurrent fever.
Parpatakam – Parpataka – Mollugo cerviana – 11.11 % – It is an effective Ayurvedic herb used in fever, high Pitta conditions such as fever, gastritis, diarrhoea, excessive thirst etc.

Indication

Indications of Nilavembu Kudineer Chooranam:

  • Kulir suram [malarial fever]
  • Piththa suram [bilious fever]
  • Nadukku suram [fever with shivering].

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Nilavembu Kudineer Chooranam:

  • Take 5 – 10 g of the chooranam, add 300 ml of water, boil & reduce to 50 ml give it twice daily before food.
    Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
