Malli Chooranam/ Samsakkara Sanjeevi Chooranam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Malli Chooranam is a classical Siddha medicine in powder form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is also known as Samsakkara Sanjeevi Chooranam. It is used in the treatment of various vata-pittaja disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Malli Chooranam:
Malli – Dhanyaka – Coriander – Coriandrum sativum – 54.54 % – It improves digestion strength and taste.
Adhimadhuram – Yastimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 9.09 % – It has anti-depressant, anti-oxidant, anti-pyretic and anti-allergic properties.
Seeragam – Jeeraka – Cumin – Cuminum cyminum – 9.09 %
Karunseeragam – Krishna jeeraka – Black caraway – Nigella sativa – 9.09 % – It is good for eyes, bloating, vomiting, fever etc. 
Sathakuppai – Ajavani – Anethum sowa – 9.09 % – Improves digestion strength and useful in fever, abdominal colic etc.
Kirambu – Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 9.09 %
Sarkarai – Sita – Saccharum officinarum – q.s.

  • Udal soodu [pitha disorder]
  • Nalirsuram [fever with shivering]
  • Ajirnam [indigestion]
  • Paithiyam & sithabrammai [mental disorders]
  • Vanthi [vomiting]
  • Vikkal [hiccup]
  • Navaratchi [dryness of mouth]
  • Thathunattam [spermatorrhoea]
  • Peru eppam [belching]
  • Vai kularal & vai konuthal [facial paralysis]
  • Iduppu vali [hip pain]
  • Pakkavatham [hemiplegia]
  • Sirasu noikal [cephalic disorders]
  • Thalaivali [head ache]
  • Kirukiruppu [giddiness]
  • Nenju erichal [acid peptic disorder]
  • Kannil neervadithal [shedding of tears from the eye]
  • Parvai mantham [sight disorders of the eye]
  • Ulkaichal [chronic fever]
  • Kalladaippu [renal stones].

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Malli Chooranam:
1 – 2 g with honey or milk after food twice daily.
Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
