Gowri Chinthamani Chendooram Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Gowri Chinthamani Chendooram is a classical Siddha medicine in bhasma form, manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used in the treatment of vatha disorder.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Gowri Chinthamani Chendooram:
Rasam – Parada – Elemental mercury – 33.33 %
Gandhakam – Elemental Sulphur – 33.33 %
Vengaram – Tankana – Sodium tetraborate – 33.33 % – It is used in the treatment of productive cough, bronchitis, wheezing, asthma, chest congestion.

Uses

Indication & Adjuvants of Gowri Chinthamani Chendooram:
Thirikatugu chooranam with honey:-
18 types of soolai [colic], 26 types of vadha diseases, 16 types of gunmam [gastritis], theeraa suranga [chronic fevers], elikadi [rat bite], eelai [pneumonia], irumal [bronchitis], swasam [dyspnoea], kshayam [TB], swasa kaasam [bronchial asthma], moolam [piles], araiyappu, kaamalai [jaundice], linga soolai/ aankuri soolai & yoni soolai/ penkuri soolai [inflammation of male & female genital organs accompanied by severe pain], andavaadham [orchitis], gandamaalai [scrofula], vippurudhi [10 types of fissures], pakka soolai, naakku soolai [pain in the tongue], karappan [erysipelas], punnkadi [ulcerative bites] etc. Also in kudalilaippu noi [ulai mandhai], mandharakasam, suramaandhai, thodai vazhai etc.

Chooranam composed of nutmeg, mace, cloves & atis along with honey:-
12 types of adhisaaram, vayittru kaduppu [irritative stomach] & 6 types of grahani.

Chooranam composed of wild amorphophallus, chebulic myrobalan, dry ginger & long pepper along with honey:-
All types of moolam [piles] & pavuththiram [fistula].

Destructive distillation oil of tanner’s cassia [aavarai kuzhi thailam]:-
Sadhai adaippu [18 types of urinary obstructions by the growth of small tissues], neerizhivu [20 types of polyurea], ushnam [excessive heat], neeradaippu [urinary obstruction], ullurukki [12 types of emaciation], 21 types of mooththira piralai & 8 types of enbu suram.

Destructive distillate of oil of alangium seeds [azhinchilvidhai kuzhi thailam]:-
Vayittru noigal [60 types of stomach disorders] & vayvu [32 types of vadha noiga].

Juice extracted from the just warmed yellowed leaves of calotropis [to be given along with the medicine on alternate days]:- produces severe purgation. To stop this buttermilk rice is to be administered. This is effective in visha bagam [eradication of toxaemic states], sobai/oodhal [oedema], kaamalai [jaundice], payiththiyam [biliousness], kalleeral perukkam [enlargement of liver], aguvai katti, neerkovai [dropsy] & suram [fever]. Only goat’s milk & rice is permitted during this period. After the stoppage of medicine, mildly salted articles & dried goat’s meat are to be administered first before the commencement of normal diet.

Honey:- peenisa thalaivali [headache due to sinusitis].

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants Gowri Chinthamani Chendooram:
100 mg twice daily after food generally with honey & Thirikadugu chooranam. But other adjuvants are also being used.
Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Diet

Pathya:-
Avoid salt, tamarind, sour diet, alcohol, pagal [bitter gourd], agathi [sasban], non-veg foods & tobacco.
