Eladasamoola Lehyam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Eladasamoola Lehyam is an Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Group. It is used in the treatment of cough, asthma, bronchitis.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Eladasamoola Lehyam:
Dashamoola –
Bilva – Bael – Aegle marmelos
Agnimantha – Premna mucronata – Useful in cough, cold and asthma.
Shyonaka – Oroxylum indicum – It is one among Dashamoola, used in fever, cough, diarrhea etc. 
Patala – Stereospermum suaveolens – It has immuno-modulatory and anti-inflammatory activity.
Gambhari – Gmelina arborea – Useful to improve depleted body tissues, relieves chronic respiratory conditions, tuberculosis.
Brihati – Solanum indicum – It is widely used in treating respiratory disorders.
Kantakari – Solanum xanthocarpum – It is used widely in the treatment of cough, cold, asthma and such other respiratory tract conditions. 
Gokshura – Tribulus – Tribulus terrestris
Shalaparni – Desmodium gangeticum – It has anti-inflammatory activity.
Prishnaparni – Uraria picta – Useful in dyspnoea, Asthma, Bronchitis and Chronic respiratory disorders.
Ela – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum
Vasa – Malabar nut – Adhatoda vasica – It has anti-inflammatory, broncho-dilatory and anti-tussive activities.
Trikatu –
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – It has immuno-stimulant, anti-bacterial and anti-mycobacterial activity.
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – Useful in treatment of asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Yashtimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – Good expectorant, expels phlegm from lungs, heals respiratory diseases.

Chronic respiratory conditions
Bronchitis, asthma
Cough

Dose, duration of use

Dose of Eladasamoola Lehyam:
10 g twice a day with milk,
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
