Brahmi Plus Smrithi Granules Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Brahmi Plus Smrithi Granules is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Group. It is used in the treatment of Psychiatric conditions, sleeplessness etc.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Brahmi Plus Smrithi Granules:
Brahmi – Bacopa monnieri – Useful in psychiatric disorders, improves speech, helps in speech related development problems in children.
Mandookaparni – Gotu kola – Centella asiatica – It improves intelligence, memory and useful in psychiatric disorders.
Vacha – Sweet flag – Acorus calamus – It improves intelligence, speech, and useful in schizophrenia, epilepsy etc.
Jyothishmathi – Celastrus paniculatus – It has nootropic activity.
Katuki – Picrorhiza kurroa
Jatamansi – Spikenard – Nardostachys jatamansi – It is a famous Ayurvedic herb used in neuro-psychiatric diseases.
Chithrakam – Plumbago zeylanica
Kushtam – Saussurea lappa – It is used in the treatment of epilepsy. It helps to lower blood pressure.
Kethaki – Pandanus odoratissimus – It is an Ayurvedic herb used for the treatment of diabetes, threatened abortion, fever, joint pain, earache, psychiatric conditions. 
Musali – Asparagus adscendens – It is a plant mentioned in Ayurveda for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, lack of libido and to improve the body stamina. 
Yashtimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – Enhances immunity by boosting levels of interferon which is the key chemical of the immune system that fights off viruses.
Shathavari – Asparagus racemosus – It induces sleep, calms mind and stomach.
Ashwagandha – Indian ginseng – Withania somnifera – Useful in the treatment of anxiety, leucoderma, depression, insomnia, weight gain, weight loss.
Vidanga – False black pepper – Embelia ribes
Elam – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum – Being an excellent anti oxidant, it is used in treating blood pressure, asthma, indigestion, dysuria etc.
Tvak – Cinnamon – Cinnamomum zeylanica
Nagkesar – Mesua ferrea – It is a very famous Ayurvedic herb used in treating fever, vomiting, urinary tract disorders, migraine etc.

Indications of Brahmi Plus Smrithi Granules:
Alzheimer
Depression
Hysteria
Mental Fatigue
Mental weakness
Psychiatric conditions
Sleeplessness
Useful in panic attacks.

Dose, duration of use

Dose:
Two teaspoon or approximate 10 g granules with milk or directly twice a day.
Or as directed by your doctor.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

Diet to follow

Have more of Ghee, coconut oil, Sunflower seed, almond, taro root, flaxseed oil, soyabean, pistachio,
Broccoli, carrots, chard, nuts, papaya, pumpkin, red peppers
Flax seeds, walnut, tofu, brussel sprout, cauliflower, winter squash, fish oil, egg oil, krill oil, chia seeds, camelia are fine to take.

Diet To avoid:
There are no diet restrictions. Please avoid all types of junk foods, excessive non veg foods, try to avoid or limit alcohol and smoking. Avoid aerated drinks.
Please prefer homemade food wherever possible.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects

Side effects:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Habit forming

Is this medicine habit forming? Does it create dependence? Can we stop it after a few months of usage?
This medicine is not habit forming. After using for the prescribed period, your doctor would gradually decrease the dose and eventually stop it. Follow your doctor’s instructions for gradual decrease of dose and stopping. Usually it does not cause any ill effects.
