Gulguluthikthaka Madhusnuhi Rasaayanam is an Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Group. It is used in the treatment of fistula in ano, skin diseases, piles.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Gulguluthikthaka Madhusnuhi Rasaayanam:
Each 10 g is prepared out of:
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 0.029 g
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 0.057 g
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 0.029 g
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 0.029 g – It helps to ease bowel movement, one of the complications in hemorrhoids. It helps in reducing the pile mass and reducing / stopping the bleeding.
Vibitaki – Belleric myrobalan – Terminalia bellerica – 0.029 g
Amalaki – Gooseberry – Emblica officinalis – 0.029 g
Twak – Cinnamomum zeylanicum – 0.029 g
Ela – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum – 0.029 g
Patra – Cinnamomum zeylanicum – 0.029 g
Jati phala – Nutmeg – Myristica fragrans – 0.029 g
Jati patra – Myristica fragrans – 0.029 g
Agni – Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanicum – 0.057 g
Varala – 0.029 g
Dhanyaka – Coriander – Coriandrum sativum – 0.029 g
Shweta jiraka – Cuminum cyminum – 0.029 g

Vidanga – False black pepper – Embelia ribes – 0.057 g – It detoxifies blood, hence useful in wide range of skin diseases.
Chavya – Piper retrofractum – 0.057 g – Its root and fruit are useful in treating indigestion, abdominal colic, poisoning, anorexia etc. 
Kushta – Saussurea lappa – 0.057 g – It is a famous Ayurvedic herb used in treating gout, skin diseases, respiratory disorders etc.
Trivrit – Operculina turpethum – 0.029 g – It is an important Ayurvedic herb, used in treatment of Kapha and Pitta dominant disorders.
Granthika – Leonotis nepetaefolia – 0.029 g
Vajigandha – Withania somnifera – 0.029 g
Bharangi – Clerodendrum serratum – 0.029 g
Thejovati – Zanthoxylum alatum – 0.057 g

Madhusnuhi – Smilax glabra – 0.708 g – It is a plant mentioned for the treatment of cancer, syphilis, skin diseases, constipation, urine retention, disease of joint etc.

Rohini – Kutki – Picrorhiza kurroa – 0.027 g – It is a powerful Ayurvedic herb used in treating mainly chronic fever, skin disorders and diabetes.
Arushkara – Bhallataka – Marking nut – Semecarpus anacardium – 0.027 g – It is used extensively in piles, skin diseases, etc.

Athivisha – Aconitum heterophyllum – 0.027 g – Of all the herbs having digestive, carminative, absorbent and Tridosha balancing properties, Ativisha is the best.
Visha – Vatsanabha – Aconitum ferox – 0.027 g
Yavani – Carom seed – Carum copticum – 0.027 g
Ghrita – Ghee – 2.125 g
Sitha – Sugar candy – 2.125 g
Madhu – Honey – 2.833 g

Indications of Gulguluthikthaka Madhusnuhi Rasayanam:
Sandhigata Vata – osteoarthritis
Asthigata Vata – vata dosha vitiated in bones
Majjagata Vata – vata dosha vitiated in bone marrow
Nadi vrana – fistula
Kushta – skin diseases
Arbuda – tumor
Bhagandhara – fistula in ano
Gandamala – cervical lymphadenitis
Prameha pidaka – diabetic carbuncle
Vatarakta – gout
Kilasa – vitiligo
Arsha – piles
Prameha – diabetes, urinary tract diseases
Guhya vrana – ulcers in the genitalia

  • Bursitis,  
  • Bursitis trochanterica,
  • Shoulder dislocation pain
  • Post viral fever, when the patient complains of body, muscle and joint pains

It is useful to promote strength of bones and joints.
It acts as an excellent anti inflammatory and analgesic medicine.
It is used for the treatment of ankle pain, ankle twitch, slipped disc, sprain, back spasm, backache, back injury, stiffness of muscles, Coccyx pain

Avascular necrosis
Sensory-neural hearing loss
Hypothyroidism
Ankylosing spondylitis
Pain related to SLE

Diet

Avoid deep fried foods, heavy-to-digest non veg foods, fast foods and aerated drinks, smoking and excess alcohol. These can irritate stomach and intestinal lining. These also may increase Tridosha.

Doctors also use this for the treatment of ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids.

Dose, duration of use

Dose:
One tablespoonful twice daily.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects, precautions

Side effects:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.                                               
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation period and in children.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
