Kallyaanakam Kashaayam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Kallyaanakam Kashaayam is an Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Group. It is used in the treatment of cough, anemia, epilepsy, psychiatric diseases.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Kallyaanakam Kashaayam:
Each 12.5 ml is prepared out of:
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 0.857 g
Amalaki – Gooseberry – Emblica officinalis – 0.857 g
Vibitaki – Belleric myrobalan – Terminalia bellerica – 0.857 g
Vishaala – Citrulus cholocynthis – 0.857 g
Bhadra ela – Greater cardamom – Amomum subulatum – 0.857 g – It has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activities.
Devadaru – Cedrus deodara – 0.857 g – It is extremely useful in neurological disorders, asthma, pruritus, fever, infested wounds.
Elavaluka – Prunus avium – 0.857 g – It is an aromatic Ayurvedic herb indicated in cardiac diseases, skin diseases, itching, diseases of urinary system etc.
Shwetha sariva – Hemidesmus indicus – 0.857 g – It is widely used in the treatment of oligospermia, gastritis, anorexia, menorrhagia etc.
Krishna sariva – Cryptolepis buchanani – 0.857 g
Haridra – Turmeric – Curcuma longa – 0.857 g
Daruharidra – Berberis aristata – 0.857 g – It is used to treat eye disorders, skin disorders with itching, diabetes, urinary tract diseases, etc. 
Shalaparni – Desmodium gangeticum – 0.857 g
Prushniparni – Uraria picta – 0.857 g
Phalini – Callicarpa macrophylla – 0.857 g
Natam – Valeriana wallichi – 0.857 g
Brihati – Solanum indicum – 0.857 g – It is widely used in treating respiratory disorders.
Kushta – Saussurea lappa – 0.857 g – It is a famous Ayurvedic herb used in treating gout, skin diseases, respiratory disorders etc.
Manjishta – Indian madder – Rubia cordifolia – 0.857 g
Nagakesara – Mesua ferrea – 0.857 g
Dadimaphala twak – Punica granatum – 0.857 g
Vella – Vidanga – Embelia ribes – 0.857 g
Thaleesapatra – Abbies webbiana – 0.857 g
Ela – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum – 0.857 g
Malati mukula – Jasminum sambac – 0.857 g
Utpala – Nymphea stellata – 0.857 g
Danti – Baliospermum montanum – 0.857 g – It induces diarrhea and is useful in treating liver disorders, digestive disorders, hemorrhoids etc.
Padmaka – Prunus poddum – 0.857 g – It is an Ayurvedic herb used for the treatment of skin diseases, increasing the complexion and used as uterine tonic.
Hima – Chandana – Sandal wood – Santalum album – 0.857 g – It is a coolant, very useful in gastritis, burning sensation in hands and feet.

Indications, Uses

Indications of Kalyanakam Kashayam:
Being a natural coolant, it decreases body heat.
Kasa – cough
Pandu – anemia, initial stage of liver diseases
Apasmara – epilepsy
Bhuta unmada – exogenous psychosis
Bala graha – psychiatric disorders of children
Visha vikara – poison, toxic conditions
Gara visha – accumulated poison
Vandhyata – infertility
Yoni roga – diseases of female genitalia
Kandu – itching
Shopha – edema
Meda roga – hyper-cholesterolemia
Moha – delusion
Jwara – fever
Smruthi daurbalya – weak memory
Daurbalya – weakness
Unmada – psychosis

Dose, duration of use

Dose:
12.5 ml twice daily, with three times as much lukewarm water, one hour before food.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects, precautions

Side effects:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.                                               
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
