Dusparsha Vaashaadi Kashaayam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Dusparsha Vaashaadi Kashaayam is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Group. It is used in the treatment of asthma, cough, tuberculosis, respiratory diseases.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Dusparsha Vasadi Kashayam:
Each 12.5 ml is prepared out of:
Dusparsha – Alhagi camelorum – 1.500 g
Vasa – Malabar nut – Adhatoda vasica – 1.500 g – It has anti-tussive, broncho-dilatory and anti-inflammatory activities.
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 1.500 g
Ela – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum – 1.500 g – Useful in treatment of asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Yashtimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 1.500 g – Good expectorant, expels phlegm from lungs, heals respiratory diseases.
Jeeraka – Cumin – Cuminum cyminum – 1.500 g
Bakuchi – Psoralea corylifolia – 1.500 g
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 1.500 g
Dhanyaka – Coriander – Coriandrum sativum – 1.500 g
Indrayava – Kutaja seed – Holarrhena antidysenterica – 1.500 g
Jyothishmati – Celastrus paniculatus – 1.500 g
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 1.500 g – Useful in asthma, COPD and other respiratory diseases.
Vacha – Sweet flag – Acorus calamus – 1.500 g
Vidanga – False black pepper – 1.500 g – It has anti-histaminic and broncho-dilatory activity.
Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanicum – 1.500 g – It has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial activities.
Indravalli – Cardiospermum halicacabum – 1.500 g

Indications

Indications of Dusparsha Vasadi Kashaya:
Shwasa – asthma, respiratory disorders
Kasa – cough
Rajayakshma – tuberculosis
Thamaka shwasa – bronchial asthma

Dose, duration of use

Dose:
12.5 ml twice daily, with three times as much lukewarm water, one hour before food.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects, precautions

Side effects:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.                                               
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
