Sarasa Syrup Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Sarasa Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by IMIS Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. It is used in the treatment of Syphilitic Syndrome.

Sarasa Syrup Ingredients

Sugandhi phala –  Hemidesmus indicus – 500 mg – It is useful in itching, skin diseases and has anti-microbial activity.
Mustha – Nut grass – Cyperus rotundus – 40 mg
Vacha – Sweet flag – Acorus calamus – 40 mg – It has anti-microbial activity.
Lodhra – Symplocos racemosa Roxb – 40 mg – It is used in many skin diseases involving bleeding, oozing and secretions.
Nyagrodha – Ficus benghalensis – 40 mg – Cleanses cervix and uterus.
Ashwatha – Ficus religiosa – 40 mg – It has anti-microbial and anti-ulcer activities.
Kachora – Curcuma zedoaria – 40 mg – It has anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial activities.
Padmaka – Prunus cerasoides – 40 mg – It has wound healing activity and useful in skin diseases.
Usheera – Vetiveria zizanioides (Linn) – 40 mg – Relieves burning sensation, skin diseases and heals wound quickly.
Haridra – Turmeric – Curcuma longa – 40 mg – It has anti-septic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial activities.
Pata – Cissampelos pariera Linn – 40 mg
Amalaki – Gooseberry – Phyllanthus emblica – 40 mg – It reduces pigmentation or dark spots on skin and restores a natural glow on face.
Guduchi – Giloy – Tinospora cordifolia Wall – 40 mg
Chandana – Sandal wood – Santalum album – 40 mg – It detoxifies blood.
Rakta chandana – Red sandal wood – Pterocarpus santalinus – 40 mg
Ajamod – Celery – Apium graveolens – 40 mg
Ela – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum – 40 mg
Patra – 40 mg
Draksha – Vitis vinifera Linn – 40 mg – It has anti-fungal activity.
Sura kshara – Pottassium nitrate – 200 mg

Indications

Syphilitic syndrome,
Cough,
Dyspnoea,
Skin patches,
Eczema,
Itching,
Fistula,
Stomatitis

Dosage

1 tsp twice daily.
Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Sarasa Syrup Side effects

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.

This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.
