Rechak Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Rechak Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Shree Dhanwantri Herbals. It is used in the management of chronic constipation.

Indications of Rechak Syrup

Chronic constipation especially in children & pregnant women
Post-surgery constipation

Dosage

2 – 3 tsp at night,
or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Each 5 ml contains –
Swarnapatri – Senna – Cassia angustifolia – 200 mg – It induces mobility, causes purgation and relieves constipation.
Aragwadha – Cassia fistula – 200 mg – Because of its mild purgation activity, it can be used in elderly and sensitive people.
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 200 mg – Helps in normalizing bowel movements.
Yastimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 200 mg
Anjira – Ficus carica – 200 mg
Draksha – Vitis vinifera – 200 mg – Causes purgation, relieves constipation.
Dantimula – Baliospermum montanum – 200 mg – Relieves constipation, fullness of abdomen, bloating.
Trivrit – Operculina turpethum – 200 mg – It is useful to relieve constipation.
Shatapatri – Rosa damascena – 100 mg
Shatapushpa – Dill seed – Anethum sowa – 200 mg – It improves digestion power and relieves abdominal colic pain.
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 200 mg
Krishna beeja – Ipomoea hederacea – 100 mg
Permitted colors & flavors – q.s.
Syrup base – q.s.

Side effects of Rechak Syrup

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.  
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Over dosage may result in loose motion.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
