Pramada Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side effects

Pramada Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Aushadhi Pharmaceuticals. It is used in the treatment of gynecological disorders.

Indication of Pramada Syrup

Leucorrhoea
Dysmenorrhea
Oligomenorrhoea

Dosage

2 – 3 tsp twice a day with water,
or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Ashoka – Saraca indica – It is an important Ayurvedic herb used mainly in bleeding gynecological conditions. 
Amalaki – Gooseberry – Emblica officinalis
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula
Vibhitaki – Belleric myrobalan – Terminalia bellerica
Palasha Pushpa – Butea monosperma
Arjuna – Terminalia arjuna – Useful in bleeding disorders.
Dhataki – Woodfordia fruticosa – Useful in bleeding disorders such as menorrhagia, nasal bleeding, bleeding per rectum etc. (due to its astringent properties)
Chandana – Sandal wood – Santalum album – Detoxifies blood, useful in bleeding disorders.
Kamalapushpa – Lotus – Nelumbium speciosum – Relieves bleeding disorders like nasal bleeding, ulcerative colitis and menorrhagia.
Vacha – Sweet flag – Acorus calamus
Pravala bhasma – Coral Calx – It is used in treatment of eye disorders, pthisis, chronic respiratory diseases, cough, cold, bleeding disorders such as nasal bleeding, bleeding hemorrhoids, menorrhagia etc.
Shukti bhasma – Pearl oyster Calx
Daruharidra – Berberis aristata – It is used in menorraghia and leucorrhea (white discharge). It helps to relieve spasmodic pain of abdomen.

Side effects of Pramada Syrup

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.    
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
