Pneumonorm Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Pneumonorm Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Dr. Pralep’s Pharmaceuticals. It is used in the treatment of respiratory disorders in paediatrics.

Indication of Pneumonorm Syrup

Asthmatic bronchitis
Bronchial asthma
Bronchitis
Bronchiectasis
Broncho-pneumonia
Lung abscess
Sinusitis
Tropical eosinophilia
Chronic cough
Fever

Dosage

½ tsp thrice a day,
or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Each 5 ml contains extracts of –
Pushkaramoola – Inula racemosa – 60 mg – It has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-histaminic and broncho-dilatory effects.
Vasa – Malabarnut – Adathoda vasica – 20 mg – It has anti-inflammatory, anti-tussive, anti-asthmatic and broncho-dilatory effects.
Yastimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 15 mg – Good expectorant, expels phlegm from lungs, heals respiratory diseases.
Shirisha – Albizia lebbeck – 32.5 mg – It has anti-allergic and anti-microbial activities.
Kantakari – Solanum xanthocarpum – 1.5 mg – It is used widely in the treatment of cough, cold, asthma and such other respiratory tract conditions.
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 1.5 mg
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 4 mg – Balances Kapha, useful in productive cough, asthma.
Talisapatra – Abies webbiana – 4 mg
Tulasi – Holy basil – Ocimum sanctum – 1 mg – It balances Kapha dosha, useful to relieve excess sputum production.
Banafsha – Viola odorata – 1 mg – Useful in asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Somalatha – Shati – Hedychium spicatum – 1 mg – It has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activities.
Pudina – Mentha spicata – 0.3 mg
Gojihva – Onosma bracteatum – 7.5 mg – Useful in asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Bruhati – Solanum indicum – 5 mg – It has anti-inflammatory activity and useful in respiratory diseases.
Bharangi – Clerodendrum serratum – 8.75 mg

Side effects of Pneumonorm Syrup

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
