Livorit Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Livorit Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Zandu Pharmaceuticals Works Ltd. It is the trusted hepato-protective.

Benefits of Livorit Syrup

Protect liver from hepato-toxic drugs, alcohol, infections and various other hepato-toxins.

Indication

Acute & chronic viral hepatitis
Jaundice As an adjuvant to AKT Chronic liver dysfunctions
Pre-cirrhotic conditions
As a daily health supplement to alcoholics to provide protection against hepatic damage.

Dosage

Adults – 1 – 2 tsp twice or thrice a day.
Children – 3 – 12 years – ½ – 1 tsp twice or thrice a day.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Each 5 ml of syrup contains –
Guduchi – Giloy – Tinospora cordifolia – 200 mg – Useful in treatment of jaundice and related diseases of liver.
Punarnava – Spreading hogweed – Boerhavia diffusa – 200 mg
Bringaraja – False daisy – Eclipta alba – 100 mg – widely used in hair fall treatment, liver disorders, skin diseases etc.
Kutaja – Holarrhena antidysenterica – 100 mg
Kalamegha – Andrographis paniculata – 100 mg – It is an Ayurvedic herb, used for the treatment of diseases of the liver, skin diseases, lack of appetite, fever and purification of the blood.
Katuki – Picrorhiza kurroa – 100 mg – It is used in the treatment of Vitiligo, jaundice, hepatitis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Vidanga – False black Pepper – Embelia ribes – 75 mg – It eases the movement of contents in the intestinal track.
Patha – Cissampelos pareira – 75 mg

Side effects of Livorit Syrup

There are no known side effects with this medicine. However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach and sight of children.         Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy. This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
