Livomyn Tablet: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Livomyn Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Charak Pharma Pvt. Ltd. It is for stimulating liver functions as well as to correct any liver pathology.

Livomyn Tablet is an excellent general liver restorative and also acts as a digestive.

Indication of Livomyn Tablet

Viral hepatitis
Drug induced hepato-toxicity
Alcohol induced hepato-toxicity
Cholestatic jaundice

Dosage

Adults – 2 tablets twice a day.
Children – 1 tablet twice a day. Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Each tablet contains –
Kalamegha – Andrographis paniculata – 7.5 mg
Katuki – Picrorhiza kurroa – 7.5 mg – It acts as a potent liver stimulant. Dhanyaka – Coriander – Coriandrum sativum – 25 mg
Kumari – Aloevera – Aloe barbadensis – 25 mg – useful in hepatitis, hepatomegaly.
Pittapapda – Parpata – Fumaria officinalis – 37.5 mg – It relieves anorexia, vomiting etc.
Vidanga – False black pepper – Embelia ribes – 37.5 mg
Sharapunkha – Tephrosia purpurea – 37.5 mg – It is a famous Ayurvedic herb used in liver cirrhosis and splenomegaly. 
Guduchi – Giloy – Tinospora cordifolia – 37.5 mg – Useful in treatment of jaundice and related diseases of liver.
Daruharidra – Indian berberi – Berberis aristata – 62.5 mg
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 87.5 mg – It improves digestion strength.
Vasa – Malabar nut – Adhatoda vasica – 125 mg – useful in jaundice and liver disorders.
Bringaraja – False daisy – Eclipta alba – 125 mg – widely used in hair fall treatment, liver disorders, skin diseases etc. 
Kasni – Cichorium intybus – 187.5 mg
Rohitaka – Tacomella undulata – 187.5 mg – Useful in liver disorders. Punarnava – Spreading hogweed – Boerhavia diffusa – 187.5 mg
Triphala – 225 mg Amla – Gooseberry – Embelica officinalis
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – It helps in normalizing bowel movements.
Vibitaki – Baheda – Terminalia bellerica – 225 mg
Bhumyamalaki – Phyllanthus niruri – 250 mg – It is an important liver protecting Ayurvedic herb.
Jeeraka – Cumin seed – Cuminum cyminum – 10 mg – It improves digestion power.

Side effects of Livomyn Tablet

There are no known side effects with this medicine. However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach and sight of children.                            Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy. This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
