Kurex Light Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Kurex Light Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Megha Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. It is used in the treatment of respiratory disorders.

Indication of Kurex Light Syrup

Productive cough of varied etiology
Allergic cough
As an adjuvant in treatment of bronchial asthma
As a preventive therapy in allergic cough in children

Dosage

Infants below 1 year – ½ tsp 3 times a day.
Children (2 – 12 years) – 1 tsp 3 times a day.
Adults – 2 tsp 3 times a day.
or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Each 10 ml of syrup contains –
Vasaka – Malabar nut – Adathoda vasica – 300 mg – It has anti-inflammatory, anti-tussive and broncho-dilatory properties.
Tulasipatra – Holy basil – Ocimum sanctum – 100 mg
Yastimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 100 mg – Good expectorant, expels phlegm from lungs and relieves respiratory diseases.
Kantakarimoola – Solanum xanthocarpum – 100 mg
Bharangimoola – Blue glory – Clerodendrum serratum – 200 mg – used in treating allergic rhinitis, asthma, fever and other inflammatory conditions.
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 25 mg – useful in asthma, COPD and other respiratory diseases.
Haridra – Turmeric – Curcuma longa – 50 mg – It has immuno-modulatory property.
Navasara – Amonnium chloride – 50 mg
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 25 mg

Side effects of Kurex Light Syrup

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.                           
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
