Kasamrita Herbal Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Herbal Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by BAIDYANATH PHARMA PRIVATE LIMITED. It is used in treating respiratory disorders. It relieves dry, wet and allergic cough.

Dosage

1 – 2 tsp 2 – 3 times a day,
or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Somalatha – Ephedra gerardiana Wall – 310 mg – Useful in asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Kantakari – Solanum xanthocarpum – 310 mg – Used widely in the treatment of cough, cold, asthma and such other respiratory tract conditions. 
Vasa moola – Root of Malabar nut – Adhatoda vasica – 310 mg – It has anti-inflammatory, anti-tussive, and broncho-dilatory properties.
Yastimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 310 mg – Good expectorant, expels phlegm from lungs, heals respiratory diseases.
Tulasi panchanga – 5 parts of Holy Basil – Ocimum santum – 310 mg -Balances Kapha dosha, useful to relieve excess sputum production.
Lasoda – Cordia myxa – 155 mg
Gojihva – Gaozaban  – Onosma bracteatum – 78 mg
Karkatashringi – Pistacia integerrima – 78 mg – used extensively in digestive and respiratory conditions.
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum – 78 mg – It has immuno-stimulant and anti-microbial properties.
Pippali moola – Long pepper root – Piper longum – 78 mg
Navasagara – Amonnium chloride – 78 mg
Pudina satva – Mentha piperita – 2 mg – It has anti-bacterial activity. Flavored syrup base – q.s.
Sodium meta bi-sulphite – q.s.
Sodium methyl paraben – q.s.
Sodium propyl paraben – q.s.
Glycerine – q.s.

Side effects of Kasamrit Herbal Syrup

There are no known side effects with this medicine. However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach and sight of children.                              
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy. This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
