K4 Tablet Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Zandu Pharmaceuticals Works Ltd. It is a broad spectrum urinary anti-septic. It relieves burning urination.

K4 Tablet is extremely useful therapy in the management of early & moderate enlargement of the prostate gland and where an operation may be completely avoided.

Benefits of K4 Tablet

Clears urinary tract infection & prevents recurrence.
Helps to decongest urethral obstruction.
Helps to disintegrate & expel urinary calculi.
Relief from nagging symptoms such as – frequent urge to passing urine at night, dribbling, slowness & difficulty in passing urine, poor stream & feeling of incomplete voiding, burning micturition.
Exerts diuretic and anti-septic action.
Brings about decongestion and soothing effect on the inflamed mucous membrane of the urogenital tract.

Dosage

In urinary tract infection – 2 tablets twice a day with water or milk for 2 – 4 weeks.
In burning micturition – 2 tablets twice a day for 4 – 5 days.
For renal & urinary calculi – 2 tablets for 2 – 4 months or till the stones are flushed out.
To prevent recurrence after surgical/non-surgical removal of calculi – 2 tablets twice a day for the first month and there after 1 tablet twice a day for next 4 – 5 months.
Or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Each tablet contains –
Chandraprabha  – 120 mg – urinary anti-septic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory with antacid and laxative action. Promotes flow of urine and helps in dissolution & removal of urinary stones by its lithotropic action. Reduces albuminuria, controls urinary tract infection & brings about decongestion and soothing effect on the inflamed mucous membrane of the urogenital tract.
Guduchi – Giloy – Tinospora cordifolia – 120 mg – rejuvenator, cholagogue, liver stimulant, appetizer and tonic. It has diuretic, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic properties & useful in urinary diseases as it has been found to inhibit the growth of E.coli in-vitro.
Kanyalohadi –  40 mg – used as a mild laxative, ecbolic and diuretic. Haridra – Turmeric – Curcuma longa – 20 mg – urinary anti-septic and the world’s safest purifying herb that combines detoxification and elimination with strength giving properties.
Processed with – Bilva patra swarasa – Bael leaves juice – Aegle marmelos – Relieves colic pain.
Karavellaka swarasa – Bittergourd juice – Momordica charantia – Acts as blood purifier.

Side effects of K-4 Tablet

Contra-indicated in 1st semester of pregnancy. Should be taken under medical supervision. There are no known side effects with this medicine. However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach and sight of children.                        
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation period and in children.
