Jeevak Tablet: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Jeevak Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Multani Pharmaceuticals Ltd. It is used in the treatment of various menstrual disorders.

Indication of Jeevak Tablet

Leucorrhoea
Menorrhagia
Metrorrhagia
Back ache
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
Irregular menstruation
Hormonal disturbances

Dosage

1 tablet thrice a day with water,
or as directed by the physician.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice. 

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Mukta pisti – Pearl – It helps to relieve diarrhoea with bleeding, and such other bleeding disorders, excessive burning sensation, gastritis, fever.
Loha bhasma – Iron Calx – It improves strength, immunity, skin texture, complexion, memory, intelligence, digestive power and acts as natural aphrodisiac.
Majuphala – Mayaphala – Gall oak – Quercus incana – used for the treatment of wounds, control bleeding, piles, oral diseases, diarrhea, dysmenorrhea and cases of plant poisoning. 
Krishnabhraka bhasma – Mica Calx Roupya bhasma – Silver Calx – This is useful in menorrhagia.
Rumi mastagi – Pistacia lentiscus – It acts as aphrodisiac.
Trivanga bhasma – It is used in the treatment of urinary tract diseases, UTI, diabetes, and in female diseases.
Mocharasa – Gum exudate of Silk
Cotton tree – Salmalia malabarica – It belongs to the group of herbs  that checks bleeding, Improves blood quality and quantity.
Kamal – Lotus – Nelumbo nucifera – Useful in bleeding disorders like nasal bleeding, Ulcerative colitis and menorrhagia etc.
Muktashukti bhasma – Pearl Oyster Calx
Dhataki – Woodfordia fruticosa – useful in bleeding disorders such as menorrhagia, nasal bleeding, bleeding per rectum etc. (due to its astringent properties)
Shatavari – Buttermilk root – Asparagus racemosus

Side effects of Jeevak Tablet

There are no known side effects with this medicine. However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision. Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach and sight of children.     
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation period and in children.
