Sri Sri Tattva Mehantaka Vati Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Sri Sri Tattva Mehantaka Vati is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Sri Sri Tattva Company. It is used in the treatment of Diabetes and its complications.

Ingredients of Sri Sri Tattva Mehantaka Vati:
Cow plant – Mesha shringi – Gymnema sylvestre – 120 mg – Leaves of this herb can reduce urine glucose levels.
Jamun – Jambu beeja – Syzygium cumini – 120 mg – It is especially beneficial in controlling blood sugar levels.
Asana – Indian Kino tree (heartwood) – Pterocarpus marsupium – 100 mg – Experimental study showed anti-diabetic activity.
Indian – Daru haridra – Berberis aristata – 100 mg – Useful in diabetes and urinary tract diseases.
Gomutra bhavita Triphala (Amla, Haritaki, Vibhitaki) – Triphala triturated in Gomutra – 80 mg
Fenugreek – Methi – Trigonella foenum graecum – 80 mg – It has blood glucose and lipid – lowering effects.
Indian beech – Karanja – Pongamia pinnata – 60 mg – Useful in urinary tract disease and diabetes.
Shilajeet – Purified Asphaltum – 60 mg
Nimba – Neem  – Azadirachta indica – 40 mg – Maintain blood sugar levels, helps to heal wounds and skin diseases such as diabetic carbuncles.
Cow hage – Gokshura – Tribulus terrestris – 40 mg – It has anti-diabetic and diuretic properties.
Guduchi – Giloy – Tinospora cordifolia – 40 mg
Bhunimba – Andrographis paniculata – 40 mg – Lowers blood sugar levels.
Yashad bhasma – Calcined Zinc – 40 mg
Abhrak Bhasma – Calcined mica – 40 mg
Akik pishti – Processed Agate – 40 mg
Excipients – Q.S.

Indication:
Diabetes,
Diabetes complications.

Dose:
2 tablets twice or thrice a day before food.
or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children. 
Seek your doctor’s advice for its use during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during the lactation period and in children for a limited period of a few weeks time.

How long to take?
This medicine is usually prescribed for a period of 1 – 2 months time.
