Koflet H Lozenge is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Himalaya Drug Company. It is mainly used to pharyngitis, laryngiti and tonsilitis.
Uses and dose
Koflet-H Lozenge Indications:
Sore throat, cough, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and laryngitis, allergic cough, smoker’s cough, cough associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.
Dosage: One Lozenge to be dissolved in the mouth, 3-4 times a day or as directed by the physician.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
Precaution and duration
Koflet H Lozenge Special precautions: If cough persists it is advisable to go for thorough investigations.
How long to take?
This medicine can be taken for a period of 6 – 8 weeks as per doctors advice. After that time, usually the dose is gradually reduced and the medicine is stopped in next 6 weeks of time.

Madhu – Honey – 126 mg
Ext. Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – 7.31 mg
Trikatu – 2.40 mg – Group of three herbs – Used to improve digestive power, releive excess sputum production, cough, cold, sore throat.
Pippali – Piper longum
Maricha – Piper nigrum – Pepper
Sunthi – Zingiber officinalis – Ginger
Kulanjana – Alpinia galangal – 0.97 mg – Is an Ayurvedic herb used for the treatment of sore throat, erectile dysfunction, cough, common cold, oral freshness and increased urination.
Khadira – Acacia catechu – 0.74 mg
Oils Lavanga – Syzygium aromaticum – Clove oil – 2.10 mg
Suskhmaila – Elettaria cardamomum – 0.06 mg
Darusita – Cinnamomum zeylanicum – 0.02 mg

There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It is usually prescribed in a lower dose during lactation and in children.
Consult your doctor for its usage during pregnancy.
