Femton Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Femton Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Ayulabs Pharmaceuticals. It is a comprehensive remedy for uterine affection and is a uterine tonic. It relieves menstrual cramps. 

Femton has normalizing action on the natural balance of nutrition and regulates hormones menstrual cycle from “Menarche to Menopause”. It helps correcting many conditions like ovarian or uterine dysfunction, dysmenorhoea, menorrhagia and improves chances of fertility as well as takes care during post-menopausal period.

Reduces pelvic congestion and inflammation.
Arrests abnormal bleeding.
Improves estrogenic insufficiency and normalizes menstrual irregularities.
Corrects menopause related insomnia and fatigue.

Indications

Indication of Femton Syrup:
Amenorrhoea
Oligomenorrhoea
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
Infertility
Anovulatory cycles
Menopausal disturbances like – insomnia, hot flushes etc.
Threatened abortion.

Dosage

Dosage of Femton Syrup:
2-3 tsp 2-3 times a day, or as directed by the physician.
Shake well before use.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

How long to use?
This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.

Ingredients of Femton Syrup:
Each 10 ml of syrup contains –
Asoka – Saraca indica – 400 mg
Udumbara – Ficus glomerata – 400 mg – Udumbara – Ficus racemosa or cluster fig is used since the times of Vedas in spiritual practices. Used extensively in Ayurved to treat heavy periods, fractured bones, diabetes and more.
Shatavari – Asperagus racemosus – 200 mg
Ashwagandha – Withania somnifera – 100 mg

Manjista – Rubia cordifolia – 100 mg
Lodhra – Symplocos racemosa – 100 mg
Vasaka – Adthoda vasica – 100 mg
Dasamoola – 100 mg – group of 10 roots
Yastimadhu – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 30 mg
Chandana – Santalum album – 20 mg

Triphala – Embelica officinalis, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellerica – 20 mg
Jambubeeja – Syzygium cumini – 10 mg – Jamun is a very important Ayurvedic herb. Jamun seeds are mainly used in Ayurveda treatment. Among other things, it is especially beneficial in controlling blood sugar levels in diabetics.
Musta – Cyperus rotendus – 10 mg
Vidarikanda – Pueraria tuberosa – 10 mg
Bilva – Aegle marmelos – 10 mg
Shatapatri – Rosa damascene – 10 mg
Shunti – Zingiber officinale – 10 mg
Vidanga – Embelica ribes – 10 mg
Jeeraka – Cuminum cyminum – 10 mg
Nagakeshara –  Mesua ferrea – 10 mg

Side effects

Side effects of Femton Syrup:
There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
