Ayro Cough Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Ayro Cough Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Tulsi Pharma. It is an anti-cough preparation. 

Ingredients

Ingredients of Ayro Cough Syrup:
Each 10 ml of syrup contains extracts of –

  • Vasaka [Adathoda vasica] – 200 mg
  • Kantakari [Solanum surattense] – 100 mg
  • Ajamoda [Carum roxburghianum] – 100 mg – Celery is known as Ajmoda in Sanskrit. It is a famous Indian spice, used to improve digestion strength. Its leaves, petiole etc are used as vegetable. Its botanical name is Apium graveolens
  • Yastimadhu [Glycyrrhiza glabra] – 100 mg
  • Tulasi [Ocimum sanctum] – 60 mg – Tulsi, Holy Basil – The plant with an auspicious name has medicinal usage extending from reducing ill effects of radiotherapy of cancer to maintaining Brahmacharya – Celibacy.
  • Maricha [Piper nigrum] – 60 mg – Black pepper
  • Shunti [Zingiber officinale] – 60 mg – ginger
  • Pippali [Piper longum] – 60 mg – Long pepper fruit
  • Pudina [Mentha piperita] – 20 mg – menthol
  • Thymol – 20 mg
  • Sugar syrup with flavor – q.s.

Indication

Indication of Ayro Cough Syrup:
For cough of any aetiology.

Dose

Dosage of Ayro Cough Syrup:

  • Children – ½ – 1 tsp 2-3 times a day, or as directed by your Ayurvedic doctor
  • Adults – 1-2 tsp 2-3 times a day, or as directed by your Ayurvedic doctor

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects, package, shelf life

Side effects of Ayro Cough Syrup:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • This product should be avoided in people with diabetes
  • Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Shelf life or expiration date: 3 years from the date of manufacture.
