Amrutadi Vati: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Amrutadi Vati is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Sri Sri Ayurveda Pharma. It is an anti-bacterial used in skin & respiratory disorders. 

Amrutadi Vati is a herbo-mineral drug containing concentrated cow’s urine & purified Sulphur along with herbs like nimba, katuki etc. which are effective in skin disorders and fever.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Amrutadi Vati:

  • Nimba [Azadirachta indica] – 100 mg
  • Shuddha gandhaka [Purified sulphur] – 75 mg
  • Amruta [Tinospora cordifolia] – 50 mg
  • Katuki [Picrorrhiza kurroa] – 50 mg
  • Karanja beeja [Pongamia pinnata] – 50 mg – Karanja is an important Ayurvedic medicine, used predominantly in skin diseases. Karanja twigs were used as tooth brush in ancient times. Its botanical name is Pongamia pinnata. Synonym: Millettia pinnata. It belongs to Fabaceae family.
  • Shuddha lashuna [Allium sativum] – 25 mg – Garlic is anti aging spice. It is hot, cleansing, cardiac tonic, digestive, good for eyes, improves hair strength and quality, useful in cough, asthma etc. But needs some precautions while administering it
  • Amalaki [Embelica officinalis] – 25 mg
  • Ashwagandha [Withania somnifera]- 25 mg
  • Chitraka [Plumbago zeylanica] – 25 mg
  • Haridra [Curcuma longa] – 25 mg
  • Gomutra ghana [Cow’s urine] – 25 mg – Cow urine is widely used for many health problems in India since many centuries. Cow is seen as a sign of spirituality and hence cow urine is also used in devotional practices as well. Cow urine comes with a bunch of health benefits. But it is also important to know who can drink cow urine? for how long? who may avoid cow urine, its dosage etc
  • Methyl paraben sodium – 1.2 mg
  • Propyl paraben sodium – 0.6 mg
  • Excepients – q.s.

Uses

Indication of Amrutadi Vati:

  • Bacterial infections
  • Viral fever
  • Skin diseases
  • Dyspnea
  • Rhinitis

Dose, adjuvants

Dosage & Adjuvants of Amrutadi Vati:
1 tablet before food with honey, ghee or warm water, once or twice a day, or as directed by physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects of Amrutadi Vati:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
It is best to avoid this product during pregnancy.
