Agrizyme Syrup: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Agrizyme Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Agrigold Pharmaceuticals. It is a good carminative and anti-spasmodic drug. 

Ingredients

Ingredients of Agrizyme Syrup:
Each 5 ml of syrup contains-

  • Amalaki [Phylanthus embelica] – 262.5 mg
  • Kaidarya [Murrayya koeingi] – 5 mg
  • Chitraka [Plumbago zeylanica] – 262.5 mg – Chitrak is one of the powerful digestive and carminative herbs of Ayurveda. It is used in most of Ayurvedic medicines for indigestion. Its botanical name is Plumbato zeylanica. It is called as Leadwort in English.
  • Dhanyaka [Coriandrum sativum] – 175 mg – Coriander seeds and leaves are part of Indian culinary since ages. It is used for therapeutic purposes as well. It is also famous by the name Cilantro seeds.
  • Ajamoda [Apium graveolens] – 175 mg
  • Vidanga [Embelica ribes] – 87.5 mg – Vidanga is one of the powerful anti-parasitic herbs of Ayurveda. It is widely used against intestinal worm infestation. Its botanical name is Embelia ribes. It is called False black pepper., because it mimics pepper in appearance.
  • Methika [Mentha arvensis] – 87.5 mg
  • Katuki [Picrorrhiza kurroa] – 87.5 mg – Kutki – Picrorhiza kurroa is a powerful Ayurvedic herb used in treating mainly chronic fever, skin disorders and diabetes. It is also used in purgation (Virechana Panchakarma) procedure.
  • Haridra [Curcuma longa] – 87.5 mg
  • Jeeraka [Cuminum cyminum] – 87.5 mg – Cumin seeds are known as Jeeraka in Sanskrit. The word is derived from Jeerna – digestion. Hence Jeeraka means that which digests. Cumin seed is very good in treating digestive track disorders.

Indication

Indication of Agrizyme Syrup:

  • Anorexia
  • Indigestion
  • Dyspepsia
  • Flatulence
  • Helminthiasis

Dose

Dosage of Agrizyme Syrup:
10 ml twice daily after food, or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects, package

Side effects of Agrizyme Syrup:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It is not suitable for people with diabetes.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
