Dhathryarishtam is a liquid Ayurvedic medicine used in the treatment of diseases pertaining to liver and heart. It contains 5 – 10 % of self generated alcohol. The alcohol, along with water acts as media for the herbal active principles. This product is also known as Amalakarishtam

Uses

Dhathryarishtam uses:
Anemia – Pandu
Jaundice, liver diseases – Kamala
Heart diseases – Hrudroga
Gout – Vatasruk
Chronic fever – Vishama Jwara
Cough – Kasa
Hiccups – Hikka
Anorexia – Aruchi
Asthma, Chronic respiratory diseases – Shwasa

Dose, duration of use

Dhathryarishtam Dose: – 10 – 20 ml, once or twice a day, before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
In case of anemia, this medicine is advised to be taken on empty stomach and food should only be taken after the digestion of this medicine.
It can be taken for a period of 1 – 2 months, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Shelf life – 10 years

Dhathryarishtam Side effects:
Over dosage may cause slight burning sensation in stomach.
Pregnants, lactating mothers and children should seek medical advice before taking this medicine.

Ingredients, method of preparation

Dhathryaristam ingredients, how to prepare:
Amalaki juice is extracted from 1000 Amla fruits.
It is added with 1/8th part of honey.
Pippali (long pepper) – 96 grams powder
Sharkara – sugar / jaggery – 2.4 kg

The mixture is first heated, then taken in a pot smeared on its inside with ghee and kept for 15 days.
The obtained product is filtered.
