Gacid Capsules – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Gacid Capsules is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Mukthi Pharma, Trivendrum. It is used in the treatment of flatulence, acidity etc.

As per the claims of manufacturer, it is indicated in Ayurvedic treatment of flatulence, acidity, indigestion, anorexia.

Effect on dosha

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata and Pitta.

Dose and duration of use

Gacid Capsules Dose:
2 capsules, 2- 3 times a day, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

How long to take? 
It can be taken for upto 1-2  months, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Gacid Capsules Ingredients:
Each capsule contains
Ajamoda Apium graveolens – 75 mg
Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 50 mg – Clove is an important Ayurvedic spice, used both for culinary and therapeutic purposes. Its botanical name is Syzygium aromaticum. It belongs to Myrtaceae family. Interesting fact about clove is, though it is hot to taste, it is cooling and soothing to stomach.
Shunti – Ginger (rhizome) – Zingiber officinalis – 8 mg
Jeeraka – Cumin seed – Cuminum cyminum – 62 mg
Carum carvi – 12 mg
Jati – Nutmeg – Myristica fragrans – 8 mg
Sariva – Indian Sarsaparilla (root) – Hemidesmus indicus – 25 mg
Usheera – Vetiveria zizanioides – 33 mg
Musta – Nut grass (root) – Cyperus rotundus – 15 mg – improves lactation, relieves fever, burning sensation, excessive thirst. Commonly known as nut grass, it is also used in treating diarrhea, dyspepsia, herpes and more.
Shatapushpa – Indian Dill (fruit) – Anethum sowa – 10 mg
Haritaki – Chebulic Myrobalan (fruit rind) – Terminalia chebula – 25 mg
Amalaki -Indian Gooseberry- Emblica officinalis / Phyllanthus emblica – 25 mg
Shankha Bhasmam – Bhasma (Calx) of Conch shell – 75 mg
Abhraka Bhasmam – Bhasma (calx) of Mica – 42 mg

Side effects and precautions

Side effects and precautions: 
This product should be used only under strict medical supervision.
over-dosage may cause slight burning sensation in stomach.
Store in a cool dry place.
Use this medicine only till the prescribed time, in the prescribed dose only.
