Madhusudan Capsule – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Madhusudan Capsule is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Pavaman Pharmaceuticals, Bijapur, Karnataka, India. It is used in treatment of diabetes. 

Uses and effect on dosha

Madhusudan Capsule uses: It is indicated in Ayurvedic treatment of Non Insulin Dependant Diabetes Mallitus and its associated complaints.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Kapha and Vata

Dose and duration of use

Madhusudan Capsule Dosage:  

  • Adult:- 1 Capsule Three times a day or 2 tablets 2 times a day or as directed by the physician

How long to take? It can be taken for upto 1-2  months, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Nimba ( Azadirachta indica) 15mg
Haritaki( Terminalia Chebula ) 15mg
Bibhitaki(Terminalia belerica) 15mg
Bijaka(Vijaysar) ( Pterocarpus marsupium) 15mg
Kiratatikta (Swertia chirata) 15mg
Kapikacchu ( Mucuna pruriens) 15mg
Asana (Terminalia tomentosa) 15mg
Mamajjaka ( Enicostemma littorale) 15mg
Amrita ( Tinospora cordifolia) 15mg
Saptarangi ( Casearia esculenta) 15mg
Shudha Shilajitu * 90mg
* Processed in the decoction of Amalaki, Bibhitaki, Haritaki, Jambu majja, Meshashringi, Musta, Nimba, Bijaka, Kiratatikta, Kapikacchu, Asana, mamajjaka, Amrita and Saptarangi.

Side effects

Side effect: 
Children, pregnant ladies and lactating mothers should take this medicine only under medical supervision.
People with Diabetes should take this product only under medical supervision.
Overdosage may cause side effects like hypoglycemia (lowering of blood sugar levels)
keep out of reach and sight of children.
Store in a cool dry place.
Take this medicine only till the prescribed time.
