Laxinol capsule is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Kerala Ayurveda Limited, Aluva, Kerala, India. It is used to relieve constipation.
Uses and effect on dosha
Laxinol capsule uses: It is indicated in Ayurvedic treatment of acute and chronic constipation.
Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata and Pitta at the level of intestines.
Dose and duration of use
Laxinol capsule Dosage: Adults: 1-2 capsules at bed time preferably with luke warm water, or as directed by the physician.
How long to take? It can be taken for upto 1 month, based on doctor’s advice.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Eranda – Castor – Ricinus communis – 300 mg – has a potent purgation activity.
Shunti – Ginger Rhizome – Zingiber officinalis – 200 mg – Ginger promotes digestion, stimulates liver and relieves bloating.
Chiruwilva – Holoptelea integrifolia – 200 mg – Acts as a mild and safe laxative.
Shuddha Jayapala – Croton tiglium – 200 mg – one of the strong purgative herbs of Ayurveda.
Patola – pointed gourd – Trichosanthes cucumerica / Trichosanthes dioica – 200 mg
Castor oil – 550 mg
Duralabha – Alhagi camelorum – 100 mg
Punarnava – Spreading Hogweed – Boerhaavia diffusa – 100 mg
Side effects
Side effect:
In a very high dose, it may cause severe purgation. Do not overdose on this product.
Children, pregnant ladies and lactating mothers should take this medicine only under medical supervision.
