Prameha Mihira Taila Benefits, How To Use, Ingredients, Side Effects

Prameha Mihira Taila is an Ayurvedic oil, used to treat abscess with fever, urinary diseases, Vata diseases, burning sensation etc. It is used for both oral administration and external application. 

Benefits

Prameha Mihira Tailam Uses: 

It is used to treat Vata diseases with pain as symptoms as in arthritis, neuralgia, etc.

It helps to treat chronic fever (Vishamajwara), diseases related to bone marrow and fat tissues of the body, depleted strength of sense organs such as vision, hearing weakness, erectile dysfunction.
It also helps to relieve burning sensation, Pitta symptoms, excessive thirst, vomiting, dryness of mouth and diabetes.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata, Pitta and Kapha

Mode Of Usage


It is used to apply externally.
It is also given orally in a dose of 2 – 3 ml, once or twice a day, before food with warm water or warm milk, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
It is best to take this medicine, orally only under strict medical supervision.

Side Effects


It is not having any side effect, on external applciation.
Oral use should be done under medical supervision.

How long to use? 
For external use, it can be used for a long period of time.
Internally it is given, usually for  a period of 1 – 2 months.

Principle


In this herbal oil, the herbs are infused in the medium of sesame oil along with herb water decotion. Then the solid waste herb materials are filtered out. Thus, this oil contains oil soluble and water soluble phyto-active principles of medicinal herbs.

Reference and Expiry Date

Expiry date: 3 years from the date of manufacture. Once you open the seal, it is better to use it within an year.

During pregnancy, lactation

If you were using this oil before pregnancy without any allergic reaction, you can continue using this oil even during pregnancy.
If you have not used this product before and wish to use it during pregnancy, better to consult a doctor because it can cause skin allergy in some rare cases.
It is generally considered as safe to use during lactation, however consult your doctor for the right advice.

Can this product be applied after steam therapy?
No. Oil is best applied before steam therapy. This is as per basic Ayurvedic principles.
