Vajra Kshara is an alkaline Ayurvedic medicine, in powder form. The medicine is used in Ayurvedic treatment of abdominal pain, bloating and gastric problems.

Vajra Kshara uses:
It is used in the treatment of flatulence with gurgling sound, abdominal distension, constipation.
It relieves abdominal colic pain, bloating and indigestion, ascites.
It helps in easy urination and is useful in spleen related disorders.
It is used in treating spleen related diseases.
How long to use?
It can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months only.
Side Effects
Do not use this medicine for self medication.
This medicine has to be taken strictly under medical supervision only.
This medicine is best avoided in pregnant ladies and infants.
Since it has kshara as ingredient, this might affect the quality and quantity of sperm on long term use. Hence people undergoing medical treatment for low sperm count should exercise precaution. Watch here
Since it contains salts, people with high BP should take special care.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Store in a dry place.
Dosage
Vajra Khsaram dose:
250 mg to 1 gram in divided dose, per day, along with Trikatu churna and rock salt, after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
In Vata imbalance, associated with bloating and pain, it is given along with warm water.
In Pitta imbalance, associated with burning sensation it is given along with ghee.
In Kapha imbalance, associated with indigestion and heaviness it is given along with cow urine.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Samudra Lavana – Table salt
Saindhava – Rock Salt
Kacha Lavana
Yavakshara – Kshara of Barley – Hordeum vulgare
Sauvarchala Lavana – Sochal salt
Tankana – Borax
Swarjika Kshara
Arka ksheera- Latex of Calotropis procera
Snuhiksheera – Latex of Euphorbia neriifolia L.
Arkapatra – Calotropis procera
Shunti – Ginger (rhizome) – Zingiber officinalis
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum
Pippali – Long pepper – Piper longum
Haritaki – Chebulic Myrobalan (fruit rind) – Terminalia chebula
Vibhitaki – Belliric Myrobalan – Terminalia bellirica
Amalaki -Indian Gooseberry- Emblica officinalis / Phyllanthus emblica
Yavani – Hyoscyamus niger
Shweta Jeeraka – Cumin seed – Cuminum cyminum
Vahni – Lead wort (root) – Plumbago zeylanica
Method of Preparation
From Samudra Lavana to Svarjika kshara, ingredients are taken in fine powder form. They are triturated under sunlight with Latex of Arka – Calotropis procera and Snuhi – Euphorbia neriifolia L. Cakes are prepared. The cakes are wrapped with leaves of Arka – Calotropis procera. Kept sealed in mud bowls, and heated to red hot.
It is taken out of fire and rest of the ingredients are added and mixed weill,
Expiry Date and Reference
5 years, if stored in air tight containers. Once the bottle containing this medicine is opened, it should be emptied within a month or two.
