Kumari Ennai: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side effects

Kumari Ennai is a classical Siddha medicine in oil form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used in treating pitha disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Kumari Ennai:
Sottru kattralai – Ghrita Kumari – Aloe vera – Aloe barbadensis – 27 % – It has mild laxative and wound healing properties.
Aamankku ennai – Eranda taila – Castor oil – Ricinus communis – 27 % – It is best for purgation – Virechana Panchakarma treatment.
Panag karkandu – Taalah – Borassus flabellifer – 27 % – Balances Vata and Pitta Dosha and useful in worm infestation.
Seeragam – Jeeraka – Cumin – Cuminum cyminum – 6 % – Useful in the treatment of indigestion, bloating, worm infestation etc.
Vengaya saaru – Palandu – Onion – Allium cepa – 13 % – It improves digestion strength.

Indication

Indication of Kumari Ennai:

  • Moola choodu [excessive heat sensation of the anus]
  • Moola vali [pain in the anus]
  • Moola erichal [burning sensation of the anus]
  • Malakattu [constipation]
  • Kudal kirumi [worm infestation].

Application on feet

Oil application over feet

Precaution if you apply this oil over feet:
If you apply this oil on feet, make sure to wash off thoroughly with water or wipe off with cloth. The oil can make you slippery while walking.
After applying, make sure there are no oil spills on the floor. This can make the floor slippery.

Direction for use

Direction for use of Kumari Ennai:
5 – 10 g twice daily.
Or as directed by the physician.

Side effects and package

Side effects of Kumari Ennai:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • Should be taken under medical supervision.

Presentation:

Bottle of 100 ml, 250 ml & 500 ml.

During pregnancy, lactation

If you were using this oil before pregnancy without any allergic reaction, you can continue using this oil even during pregnancy.
If you have not used this product before and wish to use it during pregnancy, better to consult a doctor because it can cause skin allergy in some rare cases.
It is generally considered as safe to use during lactation, however consult your doctor for the right advice.

Can this product be applied after steam therapy?
No. Oil is best applied before steam therapy. This is as per basic Ayurvedic principles.
