Karisalai Karpam Chooranam is a classical Siddha medicine in powder form manufactured by SKM Siddha & Ayurveda Company India Ltd., Erode- Tamil Nadu. It is used in disorders of liver and spleen.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Karisalai Karpam Chooranam:
Vellai karisalai samoolam – Bringaraja – Eclipta prostrata – 14.28 % – It is widely used in hair fall treatment, liver disorders, skin diseases etc. It has hepato-protective activity.
Manjal karisalai samoolam – Peeta bringaraja – Wedelia calendulacea 14.28 %
Neeli samoolam – Neeli – Indigofera tinctoria – 14.28 % – It is used for the treatment of fever, liver and spleen disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, grey hairs etc.
Kottakaranthai samoolam – Mundi – Sphaeranthus indicus – 14.28 % – Useful in disease of the spleen, obesity, piles, splenomegaly etc.
Vallarai samoolam – Mandookaparni – Centella asiatica – 14.28 %
Kuppaimeni samoolam – Harita manjari – Acalypha indica – 14.28 %
Siru serupadai samoolam – Tripakshee – Coldenia procumbens – 14.28 %

Indication

Indications of Karisalai Karpam Chooranam, Tablets:

All kinds of liver disorders such as-

• Kaamaalai/manjal kaamaalai [jaundice]
• Kalleeral maneeral veekkam [enlargement of liver & spleen/ hepato-spleenomegaly]
• Paandu [anemia] etc.

Also beneficial in-

• Siruneeraga noigal [renopathic conditions]
• Excellent blood purifier.
• Skin diseases such as – itchyosis, reddish patches.
• Very good immuno-modulator.
• Drug induced liver injury and damage

Dose

Dosage & Adjuvants of Karisalai Karpam Chooranam:
1 – 2 g with honey or milk 2 – 3 times a day before food.

Dosage of Karisaalai Karpam Tablet:
2 tablets twice daily with water after food.
Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
