Vedamrit Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Shree Akshar Pharmaceuticals Private Limited. It is used in the treatment of cough and cold.

Vedamrit Syrup Ingredients


Twak – Cinnamon – Cinnamomum zeylanicum – 2.25% – It relieves cough with sputum, allergic rhinitis etc.
Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 2.25% – Useful in asthma, COPD, wheezing, breathing difficulty, cough, cold etc.
Haritaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 2.25%
Pippali – Long Pepper – Piper longum – 2.25% – It has anti-microbial, immuno-stimulant, anti-oxidant and anti-mycobacterial properties.
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 2.25% – Useful in treatment of asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 2.25% – It has anti-bacterial activity.
Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – 2.25% – Useful in asthma, COPD, wheezing, breathing difficulty, cough and cold.
Bibhitaki – Belleric myrobalan – Terminalia bellirica – 2.25%
Amalaki – Gooseberry – Phyllanthus emblica – 2.25%
Vidanga – Embelia ribes – 2.25% – It has anti-histaminic and broncho-dilatory activities.
Katphala – Myrica nagi – 2.25% – Useful in asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Yashtimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 2.25% – Good expectorant, expels phlegm from lungs, heals respiratory diseases.
Yava kshara – Alkali preparation prepared from Barley – Hordeum vulgare 2.25%
Dhanyaka – Coriander – Coriandrum sativum – 2.25%
Tulasi Rasa – Basil juice – Ocimum sanctum – 4.50 % – Balances Kapha dosha, useful to relieve excess sputum production.
Kantakari Rasa – Solanum surattense – 4.50% – Useful in treatment of asthma and chronic respiratory disorders.
Shringa bhasma – 4.50% – It has mucolytic, anti-tussive, expectorant and anti-bacterial activities.
Sugar – Saccharum officinarum – 48.25%

Dosage


1 to 2 tsp twice or thrice a day.
Or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Vedamrit Syrup Side Effects


There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.

This product can be used for a period of 2 – 3 months of time, based on your doctor’s advice.
