Sumeru Cough Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Sri Sri Tattva Pharmacy. It is used in the treatment of Cough.
Sumeru Cough Syrup Ingredients
Kantakari – Solanum surattense – 0.2625 g – Useful in asthma and chronic respiratory diseases.
Vasa – Malabarnut – Justicia adhatoda – 0.2625 g – It has anti-inflammatory, anti-tussive and broncho-dilatory properties.
Tulasi – Holy basil – Ocimum tenuiflorum – 0.2625 g – Balances Kapha dosha, useful to relieve excess sputum production.
Yashtimadhu – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 0.175 g – Good expectorant, expels phlegm from lungs, heals respiratory diseases.
Shunti – Ginger – Zingiber officinale – 0.175 g – Balances Kapha, useful in asthma, chronic respiratory diseases.
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 0.175 g – Useful in respiratory diseases.
Lavanga – Clove – Syzygium aromaticum – 0.0875 g – Useful in asthma, COPD, cough, cold and chronic respiratory diseases.
Harithaki – Chebulic myrobalan – Terminalia chebula – 0.0875 g – Useful in respiratory diseases.
Sugar – Saccharum officinarum – 3.00 g
M.P.S preservative – 0.003 g
P.P.S preservative – 0.0015 g
Sorbitol excipient – 0.5 ml
Propylene glycol Excipient – 0.25 ml
Mentol – 0.0025 g
Peppermint oil – 0.001 g
Ammonium chloride excipient – 0.125 g

Bronchitis.
Dosage
10 – 15 ml twice or thrice a day.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

There are no known side effects with this medicine.
However, it is best to use this medicine under medical supervision.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy.
This product can be safely used during lactation period and in children for a limited period of few weeks time.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
