Liv Compound Syrup Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Liv Compound Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Alarsin Pharmaceuticals. It is mainly used to treat alcoholic hepatitis and liver dysfunction.

Uses and dose

Liv Compound Syrup Indications:
alcoholic hepatitis, loss of appetite, jaundice and infantile liver disorders, early cirrhosis of liver, prophylaxis against drug induced hepatotoxicity, liver dysfunctions.

Dosage:
10 ml twice or thrice a day for 4-6 weeks. Then 5 ml twice or thrice a day for 2-3 months.
Children-5 ml two three times a day.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Duration

How long to take?
This medicine can be taken for a period of 6 – 8 weeks as per doctors advice. After that time, usually the dose is gradually reduced and the medicine is stopped in next 6 weeks of time.

Bhango – Eclipta alba – 80 mg – Used to treat hair fall, liver disorders, skin diseases etc.
Bhui amla – Phyllanthus niruri – 60 mg – Widely used in jaundice, liver dysfunction, hepatitis, cirrhosis, fever etc
Saptarnga – Casearia esulana – 40 mg
Pitapapra – Fumaria parviflora – 40 mg – Used in jaundice, fever, liver disorders, act as immuno modulator.
Sarpankamul – Tephorosia purpurea – 40 mg
Katuka – Picrorhiza kurroa – 30 mg – It normalizes liver enzymes, relieves jaundice, hepatitis, improves digestive power.
Punamava – Boerhaavia diffusa – 30 mg
Dudhal – Taraxacum officinale – 20 mg
Daruhaldi – Berberis aristata – 20 mg
Kumara – Aloe indica – 10 mg
Kakmachi – Solanum nigrum -10 mg
Kasni – Cichorium intybus -10 mg
Jhau – Tamarix gallica – 10 mg
Galo – Tinospora cordifolia – 10 mg
Amla – Emblica officinalis – 10 mg
Harde – Terminalia chebula – 10 mg
Pippali – Piper longum – 10 mg
Yashtimadhu – Glycyrrhiza glabra – 10 mg
Excipient inactive q.s

Side effects

Liv Compound Syrup Side effects:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It is usually prescribed in a lower dose during lactation and in children.
Consult your doctor for its usage during pregnancy.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
